They're considered as the 4th gen, I never see anyone include them with 3rd gen. The boyz debut in the same year with them and being included in 4th gen too. And the tweet above already correct their mistake and include fromis too

nah fromis 9 was always considered 3rd gen at the time and rightfully so but then a number of 2018 groups got grouped into 4th gen by twitter to allow for them to stand on their own achievements lol and that’s why fromis 9 subsequently got dragged into it as well for inclusion’s sake so that those groups’ stans’ logic stayed intact 
Culturally fromis 9 is very much a 3rd gen group. The same thing happened to the boyz too but to a lesser degree - they debuted in freaking 2017, not 2018, and is 3rd gen in every sense, but their fans happily grouped them with 4th gen later for the achievements bragging lol
