So first, do you see the text bubble that is between your akorn balance and your notifications? Click on that. A drop down box should pop up below. In the top, right hand corner of this box will be a plus sign. Click on it. Now fill out the fields. Start by giving your DM an appropriate title to explain what it is about. Then type in the username of who you want to send the DM to. You can send it to one user, or make a group chat and send it to up to twelve users at once.

Most people have their DM's open and will have no problem messaging you. However, some people have their DM's closed, including me. Or, they have it so only people they know and trust can DM them. To find out if you can send a DM to someone, or try to. If it will not send, read why. There is a chance that one or more of the users being DMmed does not want to be DMmed. To remove them, click on the small X that comes right after their name.

To finish off, type in your message in the main body/text box. Be aware of the character limit, as it doesn't tell you if you're over until you try to send it and it's too long. Even then, it won't tell you how far over the limit you are. That being said, it's really long and you have nothing to worry about there 99% of the time. If it doesn't say it's too long, you're fine. To send it, click on the red submit button at the bottom and wait for a response.
