What was BTS/Bighit thinking choosing YTC as the title/promoted track?

I don't deny they need a sentimental song for the message they wanna give but this song is just boringly bland and beyond saving.

It's not like BTS lack good ballad songs. Answer, Spring Day, We are bulletproof: The eternal, The Truth Untold etc... where did all these quality ballads go?

Now they will even release the English version of YTC for that Hyundai campaign. They're doing so much for a song that can't blow up no matter what, when they have tons of better songs.

I hate HYBE and don't like the executives there, but atp of their career it's time to realize that some song decisions are made by BTS. Like, they said before that some tracks esp the title tracks they do vote for it, then ofc the majority wins. Probably its the same with YTC. Like, the lyrics are so personal for them and all. Knowing HYBE, they will choose a hit TT (being greedy as they are) and not YTC. Which is fine, the members have achieved so many things and 1 'flop' title track won't change anything.

I think we’re lucky we got a song at all. I hope the guys feel creatively recharged soon.
