Welcome to this Aimer Thread - let's discover and/or appreciate this very talented singer.
Did you know that her name Aimer is pronounced "エメ or E-me" because it's taken from the French word for "to like or to love"? She's known for her unique vocal color: a husky and yet clear voice and her ability to convey emotions, especially in ballads.

Profile & Short Bio
Aimer is a singer and lyricist (using the pen name aimerrhythm in the credits). She's very private (and intends to keep it so, thus limited personal information, which I respect!) She didn't even show her face until several years into her career (she debut in 2011 and the first time she showed her face was in August 2016 on Music Station TV program). Her current label is SACRA Music and her management office is agehasprings. In the first few years of her career, she wrote for other artists and sang cover songs etc. Then she officially debut in 2011 with DefStar Records.
I translated this from her Japanese Wiki page - so please credit Yinye if sharing it elsewhere....
- Her father is a musician, a bassist in a band and thus, she grew up with music, especially jazz and blues
- During her elementary school years, she took piano classes because of her father and tried to imitated Utada Hikaru and Shiina Ringo's voices when she sang
- In middle school, she fell in love with Avril Lavigne, started to play the guitar, write English lyrics and experienced living abroad
- At the age of 15, suffered vocal chord injuries due to overuse of vocal chord for singing. She chose silence therapy for treatment. After this treatment and trying to establish a way of singing that would protect her vocal chord, it resulted in her current voice quality - the distinct husky voice etc.
- When she was in her late teens, she watched the animated film, Paprika by Satoshi Kon, and fell in love with Susumu Hirasawa's music for the film and his "musical world view."

Discography: 7 albums and 3 compilation albums
For each album, I linked to an official Aimer YT video from that album...either a song or an album highlight digest.
I didn't do a singles listing because most of her singles and B-sides are available on albums and her singles are mostly for collectors and casual or anime fans, since many of her songs are soundtrack songs. Her official website as it broken down by all the available versions - as some singles have up to 3 or 4 versions with different covers and content etc.
