Neither of these songs is tanking. Charting at all it a huge feat considering how important payola is

Probably bc they are the only kpop acts to chart all their tts since 2017~2018 on Hot100

unless your song goes viral, any act without radio support won't survive very long on hot 100. also, fact that people will put these groups together will always be hilarious to me.

bts tanking when they got #10 & #13 this year (without any features) when no other korean act (besides psy) ever did better? let's stop grouping acts together

Because KPop will always be niche, no matter how big the fandom bubbles get. There was a mini blow-up yesterday because Seventeen got another "Hey you're KPop! So... BTS are KPop too!" lazy interview. And it's because they don't care. You could put any random collection of East Asian men in front of a western media person and 9 times out of 10 they would think they were speaking to BTS.

I could also say they're tanking because their music is not good, but I listened to a BB playlist yesterday and tbh they fit in with the current standard...

BTS ruined any potential for kpop in the west like the fact that they are the face of it is embarrassing
