HYLT felt more like a proper comeback. They definitely interacted with fans a lot more since they started promoting immediately, had weeks worth of music shows, a reality show, and even a Summer Diary. The teasers were better too, the hype when the first set of OT4 photos dropped >>. Also, a lot of people expected BP to flop after KTL + the long hiatus so HYLT's success was more unexpected and exciting. But everyone kinda knew that BP would do great this time around, so even though the Spotify/YT numbers and pre-orders are a lot better this time blinks and even non-fans are less impressed. I also feel like the song is blowing up less on TikTok for sure, probably bc they chose to do YT shorts instead for some inexplicable reason.
Dropping your pre-release and then filming the MV for your title track the next day is a choice...I think blinks would be more excited about PV if it had dropped in July and not so close to the album, so they would have had time to actually promote properly. We all know that Sunday is the end of PV era, they will surely move on to album and tour prep next since they will have just over until 2 weeks until Born Pink drops....
