14th gen?

I think people really should start crediting aespa for the rise of girl groups. Before Next Level, it may seem far ago but there was no public interest in kpop groups anymore that weren't BP or BTS AT ALL.
They aren't the 4th gen number 1 gg in digitals anymore, far from that, but I do think they were in part responsible for ggs dominance.
And no I am not downplaying other ggs when I am biased as hell to their main competition.

do you have stats and facts to back this up? 😂

That aespa aren't number 1 gg in digitals anymore? That Next Level impacted the following groups? That gp had no interest in other kpop groups that weren't BP and BTS? Specify babe.
Before NL only Stayc, OMG and G idle still had a bit of what was left of gp's interest. Nothing close to what we are witnessing this year, but of course these new ggs serving quality helped themselves too. Wouldn't make sense to credit their success to aespa when aespa themselves are currently struggling to stay relevant. I am just saying it boosted gp's interest on ggs again.

the delusion lol. between itzy and nmixx’s debuts (more than 3 years) aespa was the only big 4 gg that debuted. they literally had no competition as rookies. if they actually revived the public’s interest in ggs we would’ve seen so many more ggs rise to relevance since aespa blew up. but since then only ive and nj have risen to the top and lesserafim did decently, and guess what? they’re all groups debuting with some type of privilege, no one came from an actual nugu background. aespa did not do anything to help those groups succeed lol. the nugus are still nugu while the big company ggs all did well as expected of them. in fact nmixx and kepler even flopped in some measure despite the privilege they had. “revive the public interest in kpop group”?? yall stay deluding yourself lmao

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
notice how every gg under the sun is getting a all of a sudden? where was this competition in 2021?
aespa in someway revived charts for ggs in sk and you all continue to disrespect them
they especially opened up the public for 4th gen ggs

It was Izone disbandment that freed 4th generation. As long as Izone was still around, all attention was focused on them. Remember Aespa's debut and Stayc's debut flopped with Izone active.
But after March of 2021, the floodgates opened. Folks paid attention to ASAP, then of course Next Level bombed the charts. Savage, Eleven, Smiley, Run 2U, Tomboy, Love Dive, Fearless, Sneakers, and Attention/Hybe Boy all followed.

I get where you're coming from. I am not denying that aespa was the most privileged group that debuted in 2019. But I'm not saying that Black Mamba was the responsible for gp's interest either because it obviously wasn't, so I fail to see how being aware of the privilege affect my opinion that Next Level is the song made an impact in 4th gen and started the dominance shift.

Mys can't comprehend another 4th gen group that was bigger than aespa.

the problem with your line of logic is if we want to keep tabs, next level wasn’t actually even the first successful 4th gen gg songs in 2021, it was hwaa and asap, both of which were released months before next level and both from non big 4 companies or produce. then after next level blew up, the only other 4th gen gg songs that did well are from ive and hybe ggs. so where is this “aespa opening the floodgates” narrative that you speak of?? is my question. my rebuttal point to your post was that aespa didn’t open anything: there were already successful non-big 4 and non-produce gg hits before aespa, and after aespa the only successful groups now are from big 4 and produce. literally no one else. so where is this aespa impact on “reviving public interest for ggs” like you so put it??? if that’s not delulu talk I don’t even know what is

lmao legit what...? I can't tell if you are joking or you legit believe what you said..? to give credit to aespa for rise of ggs is crazy and unrealistic and just crazy, GGs has been popular since the beginning of kpop, maybe give credit for ggs like SNSD and WG which popularized ggs after a LONGER period when ggs weren't getting popular but Itzy debuted with a huge hit like 1 year before aespa, Stayc has done very well last year from a nugu company, aespa didn't do anything, lets not speak they come from freaking SM not a no name company
