I’m just surprised as she’s not ethnically korean, and not a great singer at that. Is it sheer charisma, is she the hottest, does she have all the i fans?

her popularity started in SEA
a lot of young SEA people finally saw themselves being represented in Lisa & they had the whole insert thing starting. I think, her having so much support outside of korea opened her up to many new people & they liked what they saw (think it's the dancing & her aura just screams badass girl crush/bp).

It's a little strange because she is talented but not charismatic. She has the same expressions all the time. But a lot of people see themselves represented in kpop through her.

She is the most overrated idol in kpop history. Can' sing, her blaccent rap is not rap, not charismatic at all and looks like a child trying to be cool, basically glorified back up dancer. She should be charged for the horror that is swalla dance cover. The funny thing is her fans think once she leaves yg, she will be more famous. Baby, yg and bp are the only reason Lisa looks bigger than she is. Her solo proved how weak she is since others sing for her and she got rap lines bc she can't sing. She got lucky people used her song in tiktok (otherwise it was on the way to flopland) because sexy girls again proved her star power is not big at all
The most hilarious thing is her fans really act like she's the Beyonce of the group. It will be fun to watch after bp disbands. No one will take her rap seriously in the usa, so she will always need Korea/kpop tag even though there's no job for her there outside bp and Bambam&Sorn is the proof.
Jennie's rap is not rap too, her singing sounds like a goat dying, i'd rather watch a paint dry than pay to watch her perform, but she's popular for her expressions for a reason.
No, I'm not an army/once/my/any group stan and I will not be writing essays of insults to prove that because the topic is Lisa.

Why tf are you lying, she is one of the most expressive dancers in the kpop scene
I am not lying. Especially in the pics she always has the same blank eyes. And when she dances the same 'look at me i l an cute' face even if it doesn't fit the concept. Just because you like her, it doesn't mean we have to like her too.

Simple, because she embodies SEA, and the young people there can identify with her and live vicariously through her successes.
