I'm really upset about Minimal Warm 
so mostly I’m unaffected and I don’t care about the rest kpop. Yeah tho sad for a few songs I’ll just listen to them on YouTube or download on iTunes not a big deal.

You can use it for free, the subscription makes it ad-free and you can switch between audio and mv if there are any. The biggest problem when you are free user is being unable to change apps but other than that imo kakao m should be more scared about yt music than spotify, it's getting very popular

Has anyone figured out why Kakao M removed all their music? (or maybe had it removed by spotify? Though that seems the less likely possibility to me.) Neither the company nor any of the affected artists have released statements, right?
If I was one of the artists, I'd be PISSED. Imagine how much revenue and exposure just EXO members lose every day from not getting streams. Not to mention someone like IU who had practically her whole catalogue removed. That kind of money could be lawsuit material for whoever was responsible for the removal.

It's because spotify is flopping in sokor and Kakao M refuses to make a deal with spotify for all the artists they are distributors for, as they also happen to own Melon and don't wanna give any market share to spotify. Problem for spotify is that kakao is huge and the largest distributor of music domestically. Problem now for Kakao is that they are banned worldwide from the biggest music platform that exists.
Interesting times but i think Kakao will fold in the end, pretty sure all their artists and companies they distribute for are not too pleased about this development.
