StayC tries to serve something new but the song flops. Why?

  • The song is not looking good on the charts at all. StayC/BEP said the song is their attempt to serve something new and different from Kpop. Why is it not doing well?

    Approved the thread.
  • Not a Big 4 company group, so they're at a disadvantage right from the start.

  • they got lost in all the competition with all these new pretty ggs debuting

don't worry atleast they aren't in the same position as LOONA who've been around for almost 6 years and still no hit

  • there's nothing new nor different in this song, and it is boring, so how would it hit?

  • disadvantage of not being from a big4 company

  • It should be doing better. It sounds exactly like every other kpop song out there.

  • That new song is as boring as all of their other songs.

  • These threads assume that success can be predicted by a set of logical assumptions and asks why success does not come when their "logical model" of the song works out to be that the song should be successful is not, in reality, successful.

Measures of popularity and success in the entertainment industry has a high degree of irrationality. To try to predict any of this is to try to update a fourier series up and until the end of time. There's such a big industry in data analytics and even they won't ascribe popularity ratings to the song itself, only if one person would like a song.

I am highly frustrated when these threads aren't actually researching, using math to analyze, or use any high level analysis or thinking when mulling over these probems because it just becomes a collection of random opinions that are likely unqualified and untrue.

At least give examples of similar songs or , at least, similar situations? This one's just shooting in the dark saying "to whom it may concern"

  • I like the song, not their strongest but pleasant enough, I hope they don't fall into the current trend of "hard hitting, driven tracks" because like with the 'retro' synth era it will go stale

StayC should just do StayC and not follow what others are doing, I like their company has the balls to stick to their guns
