What can other soloists learn from Taeyeon to save their career?

  • Taeyeon recently revived her solo career after a long time with three consecutive hits: Weekend, Can't Control Myself, INVU, not to mention Step Back with GOT. What can other soloists learn from Taeyeon to boost their solo careers?

  • Recently “revived” her solo career.

    Weekend is from 2021

2019 she had 4Season and All about you as 2 of the biggest hits of the year and won of the best selling soloists. Plus a daesang.

What a flop she’s been these last few years :pepe-cowboy:

  • taeyeon charm + snsd tag + sm backing which means interesting concepts & listenable songs

all you need is a good promotion & being charming enough to go viral on k variety shows so the public will know about you/stay on their minds + good public friendly songs.

Chungha should have continued with roller coaster and gotta go-like songs, not the mess that was bicycle. She's not iu or from big 3 to be able to afford completely different concepts and now she's struggling.

  • Was Can't Control Myself a hit? It performed ok and benefited from releasing during a dead month but didn't it chart out in like 3 months.

Taeyeon is indeed doing really well though, SM has good producers and she is a great vocalist and performer. I think most important for longevity you need a really strong fandom.

  • Rather follow iu’s step

that is more ideal. you do not even have to promote so much unlike taeyeon

  • Perseverance, never giving up.

On a sidenote, her reblossoming of her career seems to coincide with her reblossoming as a person: Taeyeon's nature is moody, depressed when she's alone, she needs others around her to lift her up out of that natural inclination and since Amazing Saturday she also seems to be more of her energetic, joyful self as she was in peak SNSD days.

  • What they can learn from Taeyeon?

That no matter how successful your group was, it is no guarantee that you will succeed as a soloist.

That no matter how impressive your vocal skills are, it is still no guarantee.

That you still have to work hard, rolling with the misses and hits.

That still you won't overtake IU on the charts as far as Koreans are concerned.

Taeyeon is the most successful of soloists, who came out of successful groups. But apart from generics, there is little to explicitly learn.
