Aespa can definitely get to Twice level in the United States

  • Aespa have been active for less than 2 years and Girls did just 10k less units than FOL on BB200 with the same ranking (#3). Girls is also just a mini with just 4 new songs while FOL had like 18 songs and only did 5k more streaming units.

I'm a casual listener of both groups and don't really prefer one over the other, but those saying Aespa will never reach Twice level in the US are dumb. Sure, Aespa might never chart on BB100, but neither can Twice with any song that's not The Feels, which was an anomaly not the norm for them. I'm sure at 7 years old with more western promotions and an actually good English single Aespa could also chart on BB100.

Twice's main strengths in the US are BB200 and touring power. Aespa can 100% get there too, they are practically already there in terms of sales

  • Nobody takes pure sales on BB200 seriously anyways. Getting to twice level in the u.s not even that impressive

  • They REALLY need to ditch the stupid, childish Metaverse concept to really gain a footing. No one cares about it beyond die-hard fans and it's hardly one that will attract fans.

  • Black pink better watch out for Aeskarma

  • lol bb 200 is not that impressive, well if they manage to chart at least one time like the feels then yes guess, but reaching twice level is not that impressive unless maybe u're from non big 3/4 company

  • They definitely can. SM will mediaplay it like all their other achievements that's for sure. They will be filling out stadiums next, followed by a Grammy in 2023. Twice are nugu in comparison ;-)

  • they're both easy on the eyes.

  • Already above twice with this comeback

    AESKARMA!!!

  • maybe if SM give BadBoy and Psycho type of songs to aespa

  • let's see how big of a drop Aespa does next week on the BB200 and then talk about how Aespa are already doing similar numbers to Twice. Twice sales consistently in the US.

  • You do know charting in bb200 with new rules is a herculean task, the feels had like 6 remixes and website store with old rules of mass buying just to chart in the 80s so i doubt anyone except bts and bp can chart. Except maybe stray kids as they have already charted on bubbling under

And aespa also had 9 songs but piss poor 4m album streams in the whole week so they will continue charting in bb200 like other kpop artists but no chance of hot 100 anytime soon

They struggled to sell out 10k tickets while Twice sold out 130k+ tickets in less then a few hours from ticket sales opening. Definitely not close.

  • However Girls did well because fans were expecting Next Level part 3 and didn't get it. That shows in the streams and views. Pre-orders are just a marker of how good the last comeback was. I'd expect their sales to drop for the next album.

  • Yes because both those songs were huge internationally.

    :whatb: why the snide?

Psycho is one of the very few k-pop songs above 300M spotify streams, without any big promotional push in the West or American label, without it being in English, without a big group name like BTS or BP behind it.

Basically without all the boosters that some other digitally strong performing songs got.

That's pretty good in itself, and shows the strength of the song itself :-)

Imagine what it could have done with all those other mentioned boosters that can boost a song's popularity and success.

  • Aespa literally ended twice in sales, local digitals and international digitals. The us label is doing wonders

You mean dumped out of global spotify in a day? lol they had 2 pre release meant to attract westerners and all of them flopped so they cant hold a candle to twice internationally

Also they were huffing and puffing to sell a 5k capacity hall till the last hour while twice had more than 50k in queue so a long way to go for comparision despite sm throwing them every bits and pieces of western promo
