  • OP must be a lisa akgae all of them are wearing cornrrows what is she supposed to say? I don't want to wear cornows

  • It's the AESPA account for me. This my friend is evidence that kpop stans do not really care about cultural appropriation. It's all just fanwars for them. Not even surprised about it.

  • Not people using that stylists word to say Jennie loved it. That didn’t come out of her own mouth

  • OP must be a lisa akgae all of them are wearing cornrrows what is she supposed to say? I don't want to wear cornows

how can you say this when the girl on the right have curly hair

the other white men dancer have normal lenght haircut with no cornrows

these 3 dancers are the only one who have cornrows

I get it you want to defend Jennie but you doesn't have to lie like this and say that everybody is wearing cornrows when anybody can see that it's not the case

  • One of the main producers of this project is of African descent (though not African-American per se). If he had a problem with it, he could have vetoed.

  • The fact that a hair dresser form US didn't bother and put her in this hairstyle it says a lot mind you this show has The weekend staring in is a black person and many other black people who they didn't respect

  • And that message saying she loved it is FAKE

unless this is some conspiracy marketing to make up a scandal & then bring up how many non-blacks use black culture while not respecting it at all in the serie itself (which means using jennie as the disrespectful non black), this show will probably prove yet again how little Abel thinks of (black) culture & women.

I was suspecting it was fake this proves antis will do anything to get the idols they don't like dragged

  • it’s 2022 why are idols still doing this?

  • I was suspecting it was fake this proves antis will do anything to get the idols they don't like dragged

this still doesn't change the fact that she, an asian woman who frequently visits LA & seems to know the celeb culture there, wore cornrows. Giselle got dragged to hell and back for mouthing the N word...

    keep the same energy

  • The person asking if she had a say in it...

She's a grown successful woman, who's been known as a fashion icon, partially because she chooses her outfits. Why would she wear something she doesn't want to wear, I don't think we forced her to do so.

Jennie has a minor role there she is not Blackpink's Jennie she is just someone who got the opportunity to be in that show if they gave her that hair style she can't refuse or be demanding it would make her seem rude or full of herself.

  • Abel is a self hater and a sell out, we don’t look to him to respect black culture at all.

And Jennie is just a shallow socialite, don’t expect her to have an informed opinion on any culture.

  • Only Americans care about this stuff

really doubt a "hey, since i am an asian woman, maybe a black hairstyle isn't very suiting" would be too much when you're participating in a show produced by the boyfriend of your bestie.

however, if blinks are gonna start using this excuse for jennie again (after lisa apologised for her CA mistakes), then i hope no blink ever calls another artist out again for CA.

Abel has indeed shown on multiple occasions that he has very little respect for black culture, black women & pretty much women in general. after the rumors of his treatment of women at concerts, the whole "too much focus on women on The Idol" drama,... it's clear what for person he is.

yeah also the way he writes about women in his music is a turn off. He just gives me creepy vibes. This show has a high chance of being bad imo.

She's the only non black person and the only woman with cornrows. You really think it would be a big deal if she told whoever is responsible she doesn't want to ? It's barely visible, it won't change anything if she had a different hairstyle.

You guys should stop treating your idols like victims all the time. The moment she wears something fashionable and trendy, she's a fashion icon but when she wears something that's potentially "problematic", she was forced and had no say in it.

  • They set her up for this and she should know better yikes

  • I don't understand why some people own this style and why I can't do this or Jennie? Can someone explain?

I don't think she is disrespectful or smth, what is happening to this world? So I am not allowed to wear smth from different culture? Why not?

  • So Kim Kardashian wore this hairstyle, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake and many other white celebs if people have problem with that and it's now wrong Jennie wearing it? Why?

In my country some people have it and we are in Europe, is that also ca?

as if each of those celebs don't get dragged through hell and back by locals for that lol...

also, europe isn't a good measurement for what should be racially okay or not. some countries here even have an official celebration day where you dress up with blackface...

either way, it's just funny how selective you all are. when jennie gets called trendsetter for wearing certain stage outfits (like those diamond clips) it's all her & she's an independent icon when it's just her stylist making a good choice, but when it's something like this she's just a poor girl with no power to demand anything.

ah someone beat me to it.

Those you mentioned have all been rightfully called out about wearing cornrows, even Kim kardashian and her sisters are constantly criticized for appropriation of black culture in a daily basis.

  • I am black and if non- black people want to wear cornrow they can, that's not that deep honestly, there is no deeper meaning to this.

People just want to be offended, and I am just tired of it.

I also think cornrows are a specific and unique enough hairstyle to get keep it in the first place.

  • I'm sure some of you don't care about CA you just want to use this to drag the idols you don't like. I can't with the fake concern.

  • Why bring up Lisa? It was her own crusty fans that decided to shame and police her looks for the world to see.

Let's see if Jennie fans have some sense.

  • Is that full cornrows or just the side of her hair like Rose did in KTL music video?

  • Yikes, her fans are now going to say that stylists forced a 26 year old women to wear cornrows. I'm surprised that she's doing this role, she looks like a backup dancer for lily rose depp here. Is she this obsessed with becoming a western socialite?
