    Because spotify is the most popular streaming service. This has been discussed over and over again lol but yeah it’s not the only metric to measure popularity, just one of the metrics

    550k from china. Same as blackpink the album. But blackpink charted in multiple countries let's see if aespa does or not. They should if they are selling the same numbers as blackpink. Otherwise we know these are fake numbers.

    It’s not fake if they are bulk buying and maybe their fans are trying to beat a record. They use digipacks but it’s still a sale.

    Fans bulkbuying is reasonable but where are the albums going? 550k are going to china. Some will go to Japan and korea. But where are other albums going? If they are really sales they should be reflected with charting and certifications other than gaon.

    Why are people surprised that Aespa who're on the rise have hit 1.6M preorders, when 4th gen rookie groups can have 500-700k sales for their debut single albums, C-level solo artists can have over 100k album sales for their debut, and many groups have over 500k sales where they only had 100-300k merely a year ago?

    They're close to a million now, so I guess that answers OP's question.

    It's kind of a marvelous thing, how album sales worldwide keep decreasing while album sales (+revenues) in k-pop keep increasing with each new year.
