Groups that struggle to blow up usually lack a visual

  • I mean this in the nicest way possible and it’s an observation not an insult.

But groups like Dreamcatcher that has been struggling to get a win for years or Billlie who’s still mid tier despite Tsuki going viral fail to blow up completely because they lack a visual or THAT charismatic member.

We all know that kpop is not only about the music only. Charisma is incredibly important and some groups simply don’t draw you in enough to make you want to check out their other stuff. It’s sad but true.

    Approved the thread.
  • tsuki got popular because of her facial expressions and dc has many girls prettier

  • dc and billlie have visuals tho. The visuals in billlie are prettier than aespa for me.

  • Hyo looks like the Korean Kardashian.

  • Billie hasn't had a comeback yet, so how are they still mid tier?

  • Huh…we definitely have differing opinions on what a “visual” is

  • You see it's actually really simple:

Even putting visual aside, some groups arent popular among others because they lack charm and when they do have charm, their music goes nowhere and when their music actually is great, they lack performance skills and when they are great on stage, they are just not relatable or interesting enough memberwise as well as group wise and having a lack of one or more of these things means that they will likely have way more casual fans than an actual passionate fandom to hype them to infinity and go the extra mile for them.

For example, BTS have all of these. Hence why they attract people in droves. Some groups just lack one or the other. Others lack more.

  • Have to agree.

Only ting that can save them are really good, public friendly songs. There's a reason why groups like BTOB and Winner have good digitals and multiple hit songs but still no fandoms.

  • DC has been growing the fandom over time due to a unpopular concept and they held their concept and got 2 wins after years. they are doing very well and will continue to grow naturally.

    No.

Groups that don't blow up is mostly because they're not from a big or well known company.

  • I don't think that's true. Woo!ah! is one of the prettiest ggs imo and both their songs and MVs are of great quality. I think connections and aggressive promo are more important

  • Not sure if it's visuals, but you do need stan attractors and visuals are usually 1 of the traits that gets hyped and that can draw in the attention of non-fans and casuals.

  • i actually agree with op. i know there are a lot of pretty idols but there's a difference between looking pretty and looking attractive that makes people remember them. Some of the nugu girls are indeed beautiful but they don't have the kind of aura that attract the mass. it's hard to explain but i can give an example of fromis_9, girls are all pretty af but their faces are too forgettable. there are alot of nugu idols like that. But yeah visual is just one of the reasons to blow up, if you have other interesting qualities, you can blow up as well, and don't forget luck.

  • nope lol, they just don't have big company support, juts put big label on them they will suddenly become the prettiest and most charismatic, still can't believe people cant grab this
