aespa started off like girlgroups but are now moving like boygroup

  • next level was a mega hit then savage a decent hit followed NL’s success= performs like a successful gg having a second hit because of their first mega hit.

But now I feel like their new song won’t necessarily have the same fate unless it really clicks with the gp. NL success will wear off on other songs so the song is totally on its own especially since it’s a Friday release preformed in Western shows first.

Now why they perform like a bg is their sales. Their Savage sales 400k/600k was not inflated by tricks (cheap discounts/long fansign periods/too many versions) while all the girlgroups in their generation that sold within that number 400k-600k like ive and nmixx reach that number after doing those tactics.

Now that aespa followed this trend like the other ggs and guess what? They sell more than 1mill.

Feels like a bg because i am betting 70% chance their song won’t do well or have mediocre results. Another reason is that their concept is the same and they are building a worldview hence enjoyers feel either invested in more than music hence stanning or not checking them at all. Usually gg change concepts and have gp interests based on songs not the extras. aespa moves like a top 4th gen bg rn in sales but a mediocre bg in streams. That if their next title doesnt get huge success.

I tell you their next title determines their future like no other. They will be regarded as a mid-successful group considering they are from a big company but they wont have digital hits after that and next music will be only listened to by fans because gp will hardly check them. But if they DO hit big with the song digitally with those sales then the future is bright.

    Approved the thread.
  • Korean still like aespa very much so they won't be tanking like 4th gen bgs. But I'm not sure if this song will become as successful as NL and Savage since apparently the members put Girls in the lower ranking of their favorite title tracks. So I'll put my expectation low for this comeback
