By what metric is Nayeon Twice's most popular/well-known member?

I don't really follow TWICE closely, I'm just a casual Kpop listener/follower, but I've always seen people say Nayeon is TWICE's most popular member, or most well-known domestically. In what way is she the most popular? Does she have the most dedicated fans or what?

Because from an outsider's perspective, it seems like Sana and Momo are the most well-known, or most popular from their visuals and sex-appeal. Dahyun is the most entertaining and a variety-favourite. Tzuyu has always been known for her visuals and popular since Sixteen, though she's more quiet and doesn't do much or guest on much variety shows.

Judging from their newly acquired Instagram accounts, it seems like Momo and Sana have the most followers as well.

So in what ways is Nayeon their most popular member? It's not like she's head and shoulders above other members in demand for solo CFs, and she's only starting to promote her first solo album.

Nayeon was basically the IT girl of korea back in twice's peak days

its not like she had the most individual fandom ( although i'd say she probably did ) but she was the most liked by general public or something along those lines

because of their recent lack of charting it is easy to forget at one time the entire country from kids to elderly were obsessed with twice

She’s the most popular in Korea going by brand ranking. Foreign line are the most popular worldwide.

I think its just because out of everyone in twice she has better visual and can sing. So people think she's the stan attractor

Basically this. She was the most pushed and the most favorited by JYP for years getting center positions, more screentime and like now the first solo, while the opposite is true for some other TWICE members like Jeongyeon and Dahyun.

Non-Korean members will always have a popularity disadvantage in Korea, a good example is Lisa who's the most popular BP member worldwide yet the least popular member in Korea. Wonyoung is 1 of the few exceptions that confirm the rule.

Nayeon is the most popular in China and Korea. Isn’t that enough? Her individual fandom in Korea is just below Sana but her general recognition is higher.

Even worldwide she’s next to tzuyu Sana , Momo might be higher in google searches but that’s because of Japan volume of searches. Her Instagram followers from the beginning was at the top alongside Samo. People say foreign members are more popular internationally but I am not sure about that looking at fancam views and Twitter likes. She’s definitely top 2 or 3 overall in twice.

No idea. It's not like she is a phenomenal singer, either. She's not even the main vocal. Maybe she is most popular in SK among the members but definitely not the most popular worldwide.

I will never understand someone being Center position regarded as push like shut up!!!!Nayeon is one of the only three people that can actually sing in twice has visuals and can dance , why should they give foreigners center in a country that is not theirs especially when they don’t have half her talent , it makes no sense. Twice concept was freshness , pls give an example of the foreign line member that is as talented as Nayeon and fits twice concept I will wait .

Dahyun gets the best outfits and had more appearances on tv than Nayeon , had 6 mc jobs and she is one of the least talented members no one bats an eye on her. If she was truly jyp favourite, Nayeon would have had her solo 2018 .

2015 , if I remember correctly jyp was all about tzuyu they pushed tzuyu so much it turned twice to tzuyu and the girls. At that time no one was upset. International fans say Koreans have prejudice on foreign members and I dare say international fans have prejudice in Korean members, most of you only praise the foreigners in every group that has them.

Also what’s the Wonyoung correlation here, she’s more pushed than Nayeon in her group .

lol true. as much as I like MiSaMoTzu, none of them can hold a note. Nayeon and Jihyo are the only rounded members.
