is it true nayeon bought followers on instagram?

  • can anyone explain why people think she bought followers? if it's true why only her though?

    Approved the thread.
  • If anyone bought followers it would be some of her fans. I think a lot of fans do that for their faves. But not Nayeon though. Why would she care?

  • the people that are accusing her are fans who thought their bias was more popular, she is only behind Momo and Sana. Tzuyu and Mina fans always thought they would be higher than Nayeon on Instagram but from the moment they opened Nayeon was the one after Momo and Sana and it seems some solo stans can’t stand it besides she’s having a solo , more reason for people to follow

  • No, Instagram pretty much bans any account with suspicious activity. Period. It doesn't matter if you're a celeb or not if they detect suspicious activity IG freeze, shadow ban or ban your account.

Remember a few years ago with Jennifer Anniston when she was getting crazy followers in a few minutes IG banned her account. They don't care if you're famous.

Long post below, but worth reading for context.

If NY was buying followers with all the fuss people are making and the people sending in complaints(the Pann post combined had over 300k views, not an unseen issue) IG would investigate and ban her account. Buying followers and likes is pretty much an instant ban from IG.

Not to mention the accusations are laughable. 1, it's pretty much people accusing her of buying hundreds of thousands of followers right? Yet this seems to be exclusively affecting people from Pann and TheQoo? Like what?

2, that's not how buying followers works. They don't hack active accounts follow the person and give the account back lmao. Who would pay for that service when you would 100% be caught? They typically have a big bank of already hack/dorment accounts that they drip feed followers to you naturally over time(remember if they dump 300k followers in a day the sellers are going to be likely caught too and thats bye bye business for them.)

As for these idiots using Kpop-Radar? Championing that as accurate? Laughable, check todays top followed account. Lalisa with a whopping 3.8m followers in a day. What was her followers yesterday? Ow that's right just 60k.

Now shoot on oer to her IG account where she has still got 78m followers! See the issue? That site is a piece of garbage. It's completely inaccurate completely unreliable. See the below Tweet.

Now do fans buy followers? Maybe, all of them probably do. Can they afford to buy 100's of thousands of followers? Probably not.

Do fans make multiple duplicate accounts? Sometimes 100's a week? Of course. These accounts eventually get filtered out over time so it makes sense.

All I'm saying is with people claiming she bought hundreds of thousands of follower how come she's not been banned? Or better how come out of these 100's of thousands of victims not 1 has presented a single piece of viable evidence and how come it's affecting a disproportionate number of Pann users? That not seem a tad suspicious to ya'll?

  • Yes, but I don't blame her. We all know it's a company controlled account, and JYP probably felt a bit embarrassed at their low follower counts compared to the real top groups like Blackpink or BTS.

  • There was the article on the front page a few days ago that shed light on this.

It seems that Instagram went overzealous in somehow trying to "take" accounts with similar names to Naeyeon/Chaeyeon and this resulted in the followers of those accounts getting transferred to the Twice members.

People reporting they, or acquaintances, were suddenly following the Twice members when they never actually did.

Which would also account for the rather swift drop offs a day or two later as the accidental follows unfollowed.
