I. Introduction
[Un Cut] is an ongoing YouTube variety/reality web series that follows members of the boy group NCT behind the scenes on albums, from recording sessions to dance practices to photo shoots. [Un Cut] NCT 2021 Universe is a portion of the series that follows the making of the all-unit NCT 2021 Universe album.
II. Overview
NCT or Neo Culture Technology is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual sub-units. Currently there are 23 members in NCT making up four individual sub-units.
As sub-units prepare for their latest comeback, the [Un Cut] series has followed their preparations as a production diary beginning with NCT 127's Neo Zone in 2020. Content includes behind the scenes on the album jacket, MV and track videos, as well as recording sessions and dance practices.
NCT 2021 Universe was the 11th album featured in the ongoing series. It was NCT's third all-unit album and was released on December 14, 2021.
NCT unites on a regular basis for an all-unit event, such as NCT 2018 Empathy, NCT 2020 Resonance and NCT 2021 Universe, supported by albums, concerts, special social content, TV or streaming shows and appearances.
The Universe event featured 21 of the 23 members, not including Lucas (on hiatus from the group) and Winwin (filming in China). Ten also had a limited role in some of the album's content due to his own filming conflicts in China, but does appear in some of the [Un Cut] content.
Content includes behind the scenes on the album jacket, MV, dance practices and teaser videos, as well as recording sessions. As with NCT 2020 Resonance, the [Un Cut] NCT 2021 Universe content has substantially more episodes than a typical album.
III. Episode List
[Un Cut] NCT 2021 Universe content originally launched and is available on the NCT YouTube channel. Episodes aired between December 19, 2021 and January 6, 2022. Episodes are 12-30 minutes.
