I. Introduction
CT Golden Bell is an ongoing web quiz series that features members of the boy group NCT. It is one of the shows that is part of the The NCT Show umbrella.
II. Overview
The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual subunits.
Currently there are 23 members in NCT, making up four individual subunits. The sub-units combine to create an all-unit project in select years that features all NCT members, debuts new ones, releases albums and appears on TV shows, web and social content.
As part of the NCT 2021 Universe event, NCT launched an ongoing monthly suite of shows in February 2022 that combined members across units under the umbrella The NCT Show. It was also announced that there would be a special season of SM Station, SM's digital music project, focused around NCT members, which drives some of each month's content.
As part of each month's NCT Show content, there are recurring and limited series. CT Golden Bell is one of the recurring series, although it does not occur every month.
CT Golden Bell is a quiz show based on a popular Korean variety show, Star Golden Bell, where competitors played mini games. A mix of NCT members from different sub-units are divided into teams to compete in challenges. Each pair of episodes is also hosted by a NCT member.
Like most NCT content, the shows reference past content and memes.
III. Episode List
Episodes are between 15-45 minutes long and posted to the NCT YouTube channel. Episodes are available on NCT's YouTube channel with new episodes announced a week or two before launch. They have subtitles in multiple languages.

IV. Trivia
Many familiar and popular memes or references within the fandom appear in the The NCT Show series.
- Language issues are a long-running joke in NCT content, as a large number of the members are not native Korean speakers. This is usually affectionate and good-natured as members help each other with language nuances or joke about their own challenges in the language.
- In the Golden Bell episodes, members who are less fluent, like Hendery or Shotaro, often look for help from others or joke about it.
Episode 1.1:
- Jisung of NCT Dream is the host.
- The guests are Taeyong, the leader of NCT 127 and NCT; Johnny, jaehyun and Jungwoo of NCT 127; Xiaojun and Hendery of WayV; Jeno and Mark of NCT Dream and Sungchan, who did not have a unit at the time.
- The non-native Korean speakers here are Johnny, Xiaojun, Hendery and Mark. Johnny and Mark, however, are very fluent in Korean. Xiaojun and Hendery, native Cantonese speakers, are less fluent.
- Johnny (second oldest) is the oldest NCT member here, Jisung (the maknae) is the youngest.
- The Zoo team names itself after the SMTOWN Winter Album song "Zoo", and uses the song's lyric as their slogan. The members all appeared on the song.
- At the time, Jungwoo was a MC on Music Core. The team calls themselves MCz because all of them had been MCs on music shows. Jaehyun and Jeno had also been MCs.
- Jaehyun references AWASZ, the show that pairs together "awkward" members to help them get to know each other. Jaehyun was paired with Jisung. Unlike some other AWASZ pairings, the two actually know each other quite well, having worked together for 7 years at this point.
- "Universe (Let's Play Ball)" is one of the title tracks on NCT 2021 Universe.
- Jisung's fans are called asteroids.
- Xiaojun and Jaehyun is a running joke begun during NCT 2020 Resonance promotions. Xiaojun talked repeatedly about how much he admired Jaehyun, particularly during his part on NCT U's "Without You" where he said he "wanted to give him a hug" due to the emotion in his voice during his part. During the Resonance Beyond Live, promoted by his group mates, he did just that, to Jaehyun's amusement and surprise. Jisung is referring to this running joke when he asks Xiaojun about it.
- SM Entertainment's terrible wifi is a long-running joke.
- Roasted sweet potatoes and sweet potato snacks are long-running references in content.
- Hamster is Jisung's NCT emoji.
- "Raise the Roof" is a song from NCT Resonance.
- Jeno being a child actor is a long-running joke. (He was.)
- In the box challenge, Jungwoo is singing "Kick It"
Episode 1.2:
- Members have done the dance with headphones challenge on other shows.
-"Breakfast" is a NCT 127 song.
- Taeyong references the Breakfast arm movements and fan chants from NCT 127's Japan tour, which they were on and prepped content for at the time.
- Jaehyun references "Long Slow Distance," which is a 127 song.
- Xiaojun is correct that "Rocket" is a NCT Dream b-side.
- The game where they fill in the blank is particularly challenging for the non-native speakers.
- "You're my favorite" is a line from a NCT 127 song.
- "Beautiful" is one of the title tracks from NCT 2021 Universe.
- Jeno references YearDream, which is a series related to NCT lore, where Jaemin does blow the whistle with Hendery.
Episode 2.1:
- Taeil of NCT 127 is the host.
- The guests are Kun, the leader of WayV; Yuta and Doyoung of 127; Ten and YangYang of WayV; Renjun, Jaemin and Chenle of NCT Dream and Shotaro, who did not have a unit at the time.
- The non-native Korean speakers here are Yuta, Ten, Kun, Renjun, Shotaro, YangYang and Chenle. Unlike the last episode, most of these members are very fluent in Korean. However, Ten has recently returned from many months in China, where he only spoke Mandarin. Shotaro is the least fluent speaker.
- Taeil (the oldest in all of NCT) is the oldest NCT member here, Chenle (the second youngest) is the youngest.
- Doyoung's drama recently started airing at the time of the show.
- Shotaro did not have a unit yet but was filming Japanese-specific content at the time, including vlogs and photoshoots.
