Zayson is a Malaysian songwriter and producer, who has written songs in Western pop, K-pop and c-pop for GOT7, Baekhyun, Suran, Taeyong and NCT Dream.
II. Career
Although born in Malaysia, his family moved to China when he was child. He moved to the U.S. to attend college, then began his career as a producer in songwriter in 2017. He flew to South Korea to participate in a songwriting camp organized by SM Entertainment, but did not have one of his songs purchase. He formed a collaborative relationship with the production team, Royal Dive. The duo met with him while in Los Angeles with JB of GOT7 and encouraged him to move to Korea to pursue his career.
He sold his first song "Psycho" in 2019 to Baekhyun, assuming it would be used for EXO concerts, and was surprised to learn it would be included in Baekhyun's first solo EP, City Lights. He went on to write and produce songs for GOT7 and Suran. He became friends and a frequent collaborator with NCT 127's Taeyong, cowriting and producing many of Taeyong's SoundCloud work. He also began working with NCT in 2019.
