I. Introduction
Master Moon Chef is an ongoing YouTube cooking show featuring NCT member Taeil.
II. Background and Overview
The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual subunits. Taeil is the oldest member of NCT and one of the group's original members. He is acknowledged and praised throughout NCT content for his excellent cooking skills, which were also referenced in the cooking challenge season of the NCT Life reality series, NCT Life: Korean Food King Challenge.
Within the show, Taeil is presented as a word-renowned master chef teaching recipes with the assistance of his constantly replaced kitchen assistants (other members of NCT).
Known as Golden Hands Master Chef Moon, his biography in the show says he has been a master his whole life, cooking since birth and has been cooking for many years. He studied in Europe and is an unparalleled chef in Korea. Gordon Ramsey is following him and asked him to do a collaboration with him.
Although there are humorous moments, the show is an actual cooking show with recipes and detailed step-by-step instructions with viewers encouraged to post their versions of the recipes on Twitter. Each episode features one recipe, prepared by Taeil and his guest assistant. There is also an MC for each episode, which is another NCT member. The show also has recurring jokes about Taeil's increasingly outlandish cooking career (and forgetting what was said in past episodes), references to other NCT content and a running joke about the constantly changing assistants. Each episode also concludes that it was "made with NCTzen's love."
The series originally launched on the NCT Daily YouTube channel, but was moved to the main NCT channel when the channels had to be combined due to changes at YouTube.
III. Episode List
Each episode is about 12 to 20 minutes. Recipes are on the bottom of the video in Korean, although the actual show does have subtitles in several languages, including English.
