  • I. Introduction


    Handong (한동) is a Chinese singer under Happyface Entertainment. She is a member of the Korean pop girl group Dreamcatcher.


    II. Career


    2016–2017: Debut with Dreamcatcher


    On December 1, 2016, Handong was revealed as the sixth member of Dreamcatcher. The group officially debuted on January 13, 2017 with their first single album "Nightmare".


    2019–2020: Idol Producer



    On August 30, 2019, Dreamcatcher Company announced Handong's absence from Dreamcatcher's European leg of their Invitation From Nightmare City concert tour due to scheduling conflicts. Fans started speculating Handong's absence was due to filming for the Chinese survival show Idol Producer.


    On October 15, 2019, Handong's participation in Youth With You 2 was confirmed after video snippets of her audition were released.


    On February 4, 2020, Dreamcatcher Company posted a notice through the group's fancafe announcing that Handong will be unable to participate in promotions for Dreamcatcher's first full-length Korean album Dystopia : The Tree of Language due to her current schedules in China.


    On May 2, 2020, in episode 16, she was eliminated from the survival show after ranking 56th place.

    On October 17, it was announced via Weibo that she would release her first solo single, "Dawn", on October 20.

    • When auditioning for Happyface Entertainment, she sang Taeyeon's "If".
    • Her role models are Taeyeon (SNSD) & Luna (from (f)x).
    • She was encouraged to audition in Korea by her professor.
    • During Dreamcatcher's Nightmare Series, each member represented a specific nightmare or fear. Handong's representative fear was the fear of being watched.
    • She has a shy personality much
    • One of her nicknames is DongDong.
    • Her favorite foods are choco pies, sausages, and mangoes.
    • She appeared in her high school's production of the musical Les Miserables.
    • She took opera and acting lessons in the past.
