You can enjoy any rap you want. But to technically judge rap you can’t do so without lyricism. And that’s what everyone here is trying to do saying xyz rapper is better than so and so with no knowledge of the actual lyricism.

Its one thing if people were judging lyrics but they are simply judging flow and delivery. Its like how someone who isn't an expert at singing can tell who's a better singer than so and so because they might sound like they're, straining, out of breath etc. Delivery and flow are equally important in rap if it doesn't sound good no one is going to care what the lyrics say. In fact some of the most random lyrics can sound good if someone raps them properly. Most rappers out right now rap about the same ol thing yet they are regarded as good rappers not because of their lyricism but because of flow. Not to mention it'd be hard to base it off of lyrics anyway since a lot of idols don't write their own lyrics. So if we can't base if off flow or lyrics do we not judge rap at all?

yes, there are things we can recognize that is pleasing to the ear (mostly, a personal like or something that we are familiar with) + there are certain standards within the artform (depending on what lens the artform is viewed under), but even this has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Does this mean we can't judge singing either because we have lack of knowledge when it comes to language idioms, culture etc? When people judge vocals they judge how it sounds and the same goes for rap.

A lot of people act like rap doesn't matter and isn't a big part of the song when majority of the groups in kpop have a rapper and have a rap section in the song. SM stans get a bad rep but people act like this came out of thin air, SM stans still clown idols for not having good vocals and act like they are superior for stanning these idols so its only natural that people would point out a weakness in SM idols have to get back. Not saying its right just saying.

Its a kpop forum like you said, therefore there will bias, opinions, double standards and much more. Everyone gives excuses to their faves and go harder on others. I'd suggest you ignore or it gonna drive you mad.

Remember that guy who was married and had kids but no one knew? I'm sure they are lots of long lasting relationships but we just don't know. Being a busy celeb is hard enough and adding a relationship on top of that is even harder so its not surprising that a lot of them don't last.

They have potential if they don't go the typical girl crush/targeting the west approach. I have feeling Bighit will do it but I'm hoping those teasers we saw for the auditions were indictive of what the girl group is going to be like. There's a market for cute girl groups now that everyone has gone girl crush and they should take that opportunity and fill it.

In 2018 we started the year with a national hit when bboombboom released on jan 3, what a year! With that being said we're only 13 days in and it usually takes a while. A few of my fav first quarter kpop songs like Bad Boy released on Jan 29 in 2018 and Twit was release Feb 13, 2019 so I'm sure something you like will release soon.

Not you downplaying Samsung, Hyundai and Coca-Cola among many other brands.
