If aespa were on their level, BOTH Supernova AND Armageddon would be at the top, and SN would still be getting PAKs. That is the standard and bar NJ set.

Like, you all know NewJeans will own the charts entirely when their next 2 songs come out, because Korea always tunes into literally every song they release. En masse.

How Sweet is outside of the top 100 Spotify daily streams. It's doing well in SK, but it's averaging 40% less daily streams than Magnetic. the clear shift is the post-MHJ drama and now that Hybe stans have turned against NJ we are seeing that maybe numbers from 2023 were inflated. They're still doing very well all things considered.

so ytd fin has half the total streams as nj. this year they're nearly tied, even after fins terrible showing at coachella. this just means nj is already losing steam this year, sad for a fairly new group. now that MHJ has pissed off hybe dick riders all of the sudden NJ cant keep up.

What ARE we talking about here? I know SN is doing really good and went really viral, but that alone isn't enough to dethrone a group that has achieved what NewJeans did.

If that means NewJeans isn't a Top 1, then Twice was NEVER top 1, since other girl groups were way more competitive with even peak Twice than the peak of what we've seen from NewJeans, and the same thing is true for BLACKPINK.

I like all the 4th gen gg honestly. NJ, Aespa, IVE and idle especially since they all have their own style. I lean more towards aespa and idle tho because I feel their sound is more mature and varied and the girls are super talented individually, especially winter, ning, karina and soyeon.

the fact that soyeon writes and produces puts her on a different level completely IMO. she's pretty much cube's CEO at this point.

i thought that's what you meant lol. if we're talking about Asian markets then maybe a different convo, but I don't think a GG will ever make it big in the States, it's not 2001 anymore. BG have a much better chance since they appeal more to teenage girls which is the main demo.

BP are more marketable in the west vs NJ. NJ is a cheesy, corny schoolgirl lolita concept that works ok for one hit wonders but not for celebrity status in the west. Lisa alone has more charisma than all of NJ members combined.

K-pop as a whole isn't that big in the West in all fairness, unless you're talking about BP or BTS. The vast majority of people outside of the K-pop bubble have never heard of these groups. I'd venture to say more people know about Twice as they have had more tours and TV appearances in the West.

lol, how can you say this honestly? Danielle was ok at best. Hanni and Minji sounded like wounded dogs, they didn't hit the right note the whole time. Cardboard Hyein had the best vocals lol.

danielle was just ok. The other members were terrible. especially Minji and Hanni sounded like wounded dogs. the cardboard cutout of Hyein had the best vocals IMO.
