New Jeans music is some of the best kpop music I’ve heard, and that’s just my opinion. IVE has some very good releases aswell, and I LOVED after like. However new jeans whole discography is never a miss, I never skip any songs. However I find myself often skipping some IVE songs. NEW JEANS FOR THE WIN.
I agree, the music they present is very nostalgic and offers the right vibes, but we all have different tastes!
I think it’s because people have different preferences-
Lesserafim simply has amazing visuals, Garam has always been one of my favorites, and even though she is no longer in the group we still had a chance to see her visuals and her amazing charisma. Lesserafim are most definitely one of the 4th gen leader in visuals, however New Jeans just takes the cake for visuals IN MY OPINION.

Wonyoung is the most standout visual in both groups, but I agree with whoever said that NJ are overall prettier as a full group, they're very cohesive in their teen model aesthetic. In IVE the visual members vs the others are pretty obvious.

In my opinion, no. Maybe they paved way for cyber concepts happening more, but that itself is still a stretch. Most 4th gen groups don’t even follow aespa’s concept/aesthetic. For example new jeans has teen/y2k concept, IVE has royal/elegant concept, lesserafim has model/confident concept. Barely any non-nugu kpop groups follow the Aespa cyber trend. In conclusion aespa did not pave the way, and though they had impact saying they paved is a stretch. -THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK-
I could not agree more, although I love Aespa and what they have to offer, I agree that there impact was not as high as that of New Jeans, and IVE, (IN TERMS OF POPULARITY NOT CONCEPT.) I’m not denying that Aespa had somehow shifted the Kpop industry, and yes there are a lot of groups who take themes from aespas concept and apply them to their concept, I phrased my self wrong when I wrote this last time. I think Aespa has a cool concept, and I see your point, but this is also my opinion.
I also feel like saying that new jeans does not have a y2k concept would kinda be a stretch, I think they have a nostalgic y2k concept. y2k highly relies on our nostalgia as humans, therefore I think Plqntchildz had half of the picture in this case. I can understand where you are coming from aswell though!
I feel like the person who mentioned that AESPA mainly progressed the cyber concept was right. I feel like even though Aespa was extremely successful, with the new releases and competition keeping up is hard for them. I feel like they did help shift the industry, but it was a short term thing, just like YG did with BP, SM was quick to taint their title after Aespa found success. I think it was a short term success, and they had short term domination!
Personally, I prefer new jeans visuals. This does not mean IVE aren’t a extremely beautiful group, I just feel like as a whole new jeans displays unique yet beautiful features. For example, Haerin is known for her charming cat eyes, and cat features. Danielle is half white half Korean, and has best features of both the west, and kbs when it comes to her beauty. IVE are stunning too, but new jeans have striking visuals that outshine.
