GAME OF THRONES - HYBE Edition
This is my first time chiming in on this subject since I was trying to stay neutral on both sides, but lately for the past week or so I've been reading a lot about it, especially this internal audit report from HYBE.
It's obvious now from a simple POV that all of this boils down to "JEALOUSY".
Bang Si-Hyuk had a simple wish, as they were coined "HYBE's 1st Girl Group", he wanted Le Sserafim to be the biggest girl group in Kpop. Literally pushing for LSF to be the next Blackpink and TWICE.
But... that dream seemed to have stalled when NewJeans came out of nowhere and took all Kpop by storm like a rocket ship. BSH was jealous of their success, even though they were in the same company. He was jealous because the group that became a huge hit in his own company wasn't "HIS" group, but "Min Heejin's Girl Group".
From there BSH started trying to internally downplay NJ to the point that he started even ignoring members (with honestly some of the dumbest excuses) that the members started feeling it themselves... which in turn slowly turned into sabotaging from within... it's literally like Game of Thrones where the king is trying to make sure his favorite offspring becomes the next ruler no matter what at the expense of his other kids to the point where some of his kids don't make it out alive and are sacrificed as collateral damage for the sake of the favorite.
Wildest part, BSH would even start targeting other companies artists, especially those female artists that were trending i.e. Aespa's Karina, IVE's Wonyoung, and even Nmixx's Haewon just to name a few. Some of the things HYBE tried to spin:
- Take credit for their success like Aespa Karina's solo because the songwriters had written for them before.
- Manipulating dirt by labeling Nmixx Haewon as a feminist and even a bully that resulted in a member leaving.
- Digging up weird hate from a small group of gynophobic men calling IVE's Wonyoung of mixed or Chinese blood and trying to expand it (like that in itself is so racist), while at the same time trying to promote one of their own artists as the "Next Wonyoung".
HYBE would literally have incels post as regular posters on toxic K-forums to post or bring up those hate topics, or have staff from companies like Newsen write nasty captions or threads on these trending artists on their personal social media pages, even to go as far as subscribing to Sojang who basically confirmed a Big 4 company purchased her premium membership (no matter how much HYBE tries to deny it, smoke = fire).
It's just so wild how it got to this, all because of Jealousy from within.
At this rate, I don't think NJ can survive in HYBE, I'm not even a fan of MHJ but NJ isn't surviving inside HYBE's Game of Thrones because that jealousy of BSH isn't going anywhere.
