Youtube is far less relevant than it was even just 2 years ago.
If they're okay on streaming services, I wouldn't really look at that anymore
Ya. Low views just means the fandoms lazy, more views wouldn't mean they're that much more popular unless they have like 200M in a month

all this talk about youtube vs melon userbase made me curious what the youtube streams are for the biggest hits in South Korea this year. Decided to look at the first 5 weeks for each song just as Gaon does with the digital points and use the top songs chart for it.
Top 10:
1. Ditto - NewJeans: 42.04m streams
3. Seven - Jungkook: 34.88m streams
4. Super Shy - NewJeans: 33.49m streams
5. OMG - NewJeans: 32.46m streams
6. Queencard - Gidle: 27.85m streams
7. Kitsch - Ive: 27.63m streams
8. Unforgiven - Le Sserafim: 25.79m streams
9. Flower - Jisoo: 24.2m streams
10. Spicy - AESPA: 20.44m streams
This feels like a very accurate ranking of the biggest hits of the year, not that much different from Melon right?

On the contrary I would argue that my surprise for the low ULs come from the still recent Newjeans comeback which I expected to let ULs rise higher for a longer period of time and that didn't happen. So yes, I'm surprised. The mere coincidence of this happening is a you problem cause I know for a fact it's not because it's Jungkook got first. But whatever floats your boat!

Well low ULs are never an issue otherwise but well typical
They've very much been an issue otherwise but okay. I've got nothing against Jungkook and it was purely a realisation I had as I saw the ULs in the screenshot so I'm sorry if I made it seem like I had anything against him having a #1 hit, I like the song and I'm happy he's got this level of success not just here but around the globe.

Last goodbye's longevity is really good, a couple of weeks ago we discussed what songs were going to make it into the top 10 yearly and looking at how stable it is now I'd say it's really likely to make it.
Do we have something big for September? At this point the song topping that month, regardless of if it's SS or Seven, it is going to be even in lower numbers than Ditto before Ive cameback in March. I know NJs is releasing a OST but it's a remake and it's for a Netflix show so I don't have high expectations. Maybe a riser can challenge #1 until Ive's comeback (ig October) but it looks like this will be a really weak month.
Biggest I can see is V? There's Riize which I'm curious about to see if the title track des better than Memories but not exactly expecting them to challenge for #1...
