I never said attacking is nice. I don’t support that and I never will. And that wasn’t the point of my response. My response is that people are upset, and they deserve to feel how they feel ESPECIALLY if it’s THEIR culture. Saying people are “soft” because they feel like their culture is being mocked or painted in a bad light is infuriating, and imo it’s kind of insulting. Because as a POC, people are ignorant to the black culture on the daily basis, so I know how it feels to deal with all of it and I hate seeing other people go through that shit. Being told their overreacting for calling people out or saying how they feel. The hatred part has nothing to do with the message I’m trying to make.

I’m not assuming anything. I’m not apart of that culture, so it’s not my place to give my opinion on if what I think she did is acceptable or not. And that’s fine. But there are some desi people who are upset, and they deserve to be heard. Even if she’s joking around, some people are upset about it, and as an idol it’s her responsibility to listen to her fans and move accordingly. Just my take on it 🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s not just a dance, though. It belongs to a culture. And it was weird of her to do that anyways because they were participating in a tik tok challenge that had an entirely different dance. I just think it’s up to the certain community to decide whether or not her mocking their culture. It belongs to them at the end of the day.
