all these collabs feel so forced and unnecessary, latto delivered so i didnt mind the song featuring another singer/rapper but jack harlow didnt add anything to the song, the ones gaining something out of these collabs are the western artists and not jungkook so i hope his next single is a solo song with korean (more interesting) lyrics

Between the pearlclutching about this song and Lisa's performance in Paris, I am side-eyeing a lot sheltered k-pop fans right now. If you think JH's verse is lazy, that's fine! That's a valid comment. It's the ones upset JK is engaging in sexual innuendo in his songs at all that have me rolling my eyes. All your favs are growing up and will be expressing themselves in a more sexual way, I guarantee it. If people have been using K-Pop as a way to evade the "evils" of Western pop, I think those people have an uncomfortable awakening coming their way.

LSFM has so much potential to become the cooler, darker, edgier 4th gen GG they seemed to be aiming for last year. Their house-inspired sound and haunting downtempo songs seemed to be headed in a different direction than anyone else in K-Pop and I could see the BP meets Aespa parallels (in spirit and attitude, not sound.)
This year's release was a departure from that initial sound and concept and I'm a little concerned HYBE is going to mess up a great thing with inconsistent choices in production and songwriting. I also don't understand why they're holding off on fully promoting them in the West -- still doing Monday releases at this point??
I'm hoping 2024 is their year!

I think they're just rolling it out differently. I'm sure Scooter is feeling the pressure to deliver THE holiday season pop hit and a true radio smash (Seven should have been that but I get the sense the company stopped pushing the song early). I just don't think they're going to do a big kpop style advance notice of upcoming promo for fans, and they're probably saving some suspense for the album announcement.
Seems really promising. I'm gonna need HYBE, Scooter and all teams involved to go extremely hard on the promo for this. Seven was limited in how it could be promoted due to the writer's strike but Fallon and SNL will be back soon and I expect them to take full advantage. No k-pop style hit + dip promo! We need a very long, sustained campaign. Boots on the ground.
It's the ultimate way to argue that having a huge fandom that pays to see you live is what matters. It's an extremely biased argument but so are the arguments that try to downplay the importance of touring success.
The reality is if people aren't coming to your shows, you aren't fully connecting. And if people are coming to your shows but your music consumption numbers are weak -- there's something off there, too.
