Holiday had a higher peak but so far Forever 1 has better stability (seems to be slowly rising?). And they haven't even performed it yet.

Whats interesting is that the pre-release, Cant control myself is also greyed out, so im not sure how that works really.
Compared against Celebrity which was also a pre-release, which appears normally on Lilacs album page:
It's greyed out purposefully to direct everyone to stream the original track. It's been an issue with some of her songs before where the streams have been split that hurt its charting so her k-fans specifically asked SM to do something about that for this album.
Not sure how they managed to make Celebrity appear on the same album like that though, I guess the whole album tracklist was released at the same time as the pre-release single? It seems to have been the same with aespas "illusion".
Do you think she'd have a shot at any album of the year awards this year? LYW is guaranteed to have the highest points already though and I suppose Gidle and someone else could surpass it

Have none of you considered that maybe Taeyeons fans just don't like the comparison because they don't think Winter is near Taeyeons level in anything? Even if we pretend they're visually similar (they aren't) Winter is not even the best singer in her group, how you gonna compare her to Taeyeon lol.
Another big reason Taeyeon fans get mad about the comparisons is that SMs whole business plan is to make fans of older idols like Taeyeon move to younger idols like Aespa. In 2019 SM announced auditions where they were looking for "the post-Taeyeon" (yes they literally phrased it like that, as in "after Taeyeon is done", made even worse by the fact that it came right after Taeyeon said she was taking medication for her depression). So the idea that any idol in SM would be a "new" Taeyeon is insulting to fans of the OG who can already see how hard SM is trying to replace her. That one is not so much on the fans though since it's SM whole plan and SM stans just eat up whatever SM does.
Because they don't. They just take their fave and search for an image where Taeyeon has had a similar haircolor and hairstyle (which is easy because Taeyeon has had hundreds in the 15 years of her career) and then take those two pics next to each other and voilá they look "similar" even though their features are completely different.
It happens with other idols too but Aespafans have by far been the worst. RV stans indeed used to do it with Irene (and other members) too but I think they they realized maybe it's better to just focus on their own identity so they stopped.
Yea but All kill is a term that existed long before instiz chart was a thing, and is in common use for many things in korea. Having top 3 on melon with your songs on melon is also known as 'all kill' for example. The most ive seen is some screenshot from instiz listing #1 on all the charts, but never have i heard news/tv shows mention instiz chart directly nor have i ever heard 'perfect all kill' or 'realtime all kill', its all just all kill.
And IU ofc care about the charts ( every artists does from what ive seen), points is, its the melon chart they care about. Every clip ive seen of IU checking the charts on IUTV ( betting with her team how her songs will charts etc), its always melon thats talked about or shown. There also some clips with Suzy from back when she released music that also shows her constantly refreshing melon chart every minute at release.
Considering the connection IU's company has to Melon wouldn't it be weird if she gave attention to some other chart?
Some artists may care and some artists may not, just like some fans care and some fans don't. Taeyeon said she doesn't care (she didn't know what all kill was, not to mention when she got #1 on gallup she thought the fan who informed her meant DC gallery lmao) but she said her company and fans care so naturally she's happy when her songs do well because that means the company and fans are happy.
Digital points have been decreasing across the board for a while now, and also that isn't the only indicator of a hit. Looking at the position of a song and where it is relative to the time it was released and where other songs were released a similar time around it is important. Longevity is important too, and we still don't know exactly how INVU is gonna do longevity-wise, but it's looking good so far. I mean Next Level peaked 33M points, so by your logic Strawberry moon is bigger than Next Level?
Weekend is lowkey doing really well with its longevity, wouldn't surprise me if it ends up getting better longevity than INVU too since summer is coming. I love INVU but imo it's surprising it became a hit since it's not what you'd usually expect the GP to listen to. Happy to see a little more niche songs like that getting some love :)

Because Taeyeon is actually "present" as a celebrity again after basically shutting herself for years only doing IG lives and concerts for fans. She completely stopped appearing on TV and was really struggling mentally for a long time (especially I feel like non-fans don't realize how much she was struggling after Jonghyuns passing, she cried publicly at her concerts that year more than i've seen her all previous years combined.)
Then she did super well in 2019 again when she opened Taengoo TV on youtube and went on Begin Again 3, so she was "present" again. Then she disappeared for a bit after her dad passed and covid happened, only for her to go all out in 2021 even promoting on music shows again and being a constant present on amazing saturday.
TL;DR She had basically been limiting her presence for years and now she's finally a bit more active again.
I think Taeyeon has the best technique among female idols and that's why she sounds better with each comeback but, she has a limited vocal range of only 2 octaves. However, Taeyeon's vocals are stronger than those of many main vocalists with a wider range like Jessica with 3 octaves and Wendy with 4 octaves. That means that Taeyeon's technique is no joke.
Taeyeon has 3 octaves since years back, kpopfans really need to stop looking at that old vocal analysis post about her from 2015 it's so outdated but I still see people use the info in it to this day
