I love All Enhypen Members but Heeseung is my bias ! He is very down to earth and works really hard . He is called The Ace of the team, the all -rounder though there is no official position he is the CORE of the performance. Bang PD said that Heeseung as center made everyone looks better! That is so true!. He is actually one of the most popular Enhypen members .He got good engagement in twitter ( 2 most liked posts) and 2nd most liked in Insta for Enhypen. His YouTube views is also second to Ni-Ki. To top it all, all his merchs are always sold out easily esp in Japan. Most of his fans are college students or young professionals so probably do not have a lot of time to stream but buy loads of merchs and donate for him. He is extremely popular in Japan, Philippines and Indonesia. He definitely nailed his performance for the so called “ collab” and their group performance are one of the best that night. Everyone was given a chance to shine.Go shine brighter !

Enhypen is BOP. I only watched it coz of them and left it immediately after their performance. 😂

I think physical sales is a good indicator of fandom size and loyal fans. Normally, bg have bigger and more loyal fandoms than gg who rely heavily on GP. While voting is a combination of fandom size, age & hunger for recognition hence the younger bg except BTS are below 4th gen. Still the result is somehow okay since Straykids & Enhypen are only million seller of 4th gen so you know they have strong & dedicated fandom.

Not really. Kpop is a brand that they want to sell to the world. It’s a product you want to be exported . It makes SK look better around the globe. It’s one of their biggest export. Limiting it to Korea is being shortsighted business wise. Why do you think they are promoting in Japan amd US heavily? Why does it matter? You only have 80 million people in SK while Japan has almost 200 million and US half billion ( I think!) Both are the biggest markets in the world. Any labels will give up Korea if they will be able to penetrate those two markets. SK charting is just icing on the cake — bragging rights that you are doing well in your country. Nice to have but not everything. I would love to see them chart well in Korea that’s true but if I have to choose, ill choose the international marketability. It’s hard to be a BTS who are doing well everywhere. That’s gonna take time & a bit of luck.
Yet another user either suffering an amnesia or just plainly forgetting the simple fact, this are still Kpop groups. So of all things and markets mentioned, where should they be doing well first and foremost that would help them sustain their career in the long run *gasps* it's SokOr. And who is currently far above anyone else from this gen? *Gasps again* it's Aespa. -
I am not saying Enhypen or any boygroup are bigger than aespa perhaps BG has simply bigger fandom . But to answer your Qs , Enhypen is top 11 in BB 200 inclusive of US which is the biggest market . It is bigger than global exclusive of US . Their album was part of Top World Album , Tastemakers etc as well. I cant enumerate all but it’s all public data. Though, I think Txt is the biggest in US . Their album sales were also part of top 100/200 in some European countries and Canada. They are also part of Bb 100 of Japan. They are one of the hottest 4th gen group in Japan - I think Txt too. Japan is the second biggest market in the world . The fever streams are already the filtered numbers in spotify being the biggest 4th gen streams in 2021. They have listeners from 177 out 178 countries where spotify is available. Those are all public facts . Melon is just being listened in SK. About YouTube, we all know that Hybe ( and YG too!) do not advertise since they want to see a more organic views . While they dont have a lot of views , it is still decent enough. They also have the biggest followers in YouTube who debuted in 2020. We are not even discussing merch sales . There are many factors to consider to be called a leader. Right now,it is not yet clear for 4th gen. No one is belittling aespa . They did well for a rookie girl group . You dont need to drag any groups to uplift your faves. It doesnt look good on you and some people may start hating on your faves for that. If you want them to be more famous, learn to be more tolerating of others’ views .

If you want aespa to be the leader of 4th Gen in SK then fine. They probably are but not globally YET. Everyone is trying to explain it that no one yet is a clear leader . No one is saying one is better than the other. It’s too dragging. You will believe what you want to believe. Facts: SK is just number 6 in music market globally. US & Japan being on top. The world is bigger than SK . You need a bigger loyal fandom internationally to be called a global hit and to ensure longevity. Reason why GG usually disband earlier than most BG with bigger fandoms. BG has bigger and more loyal fandom - that’s where money is.

Agree on this— aespa is definitely the leader for 4th gen gg in Korea but overall (bg, gg, internationally) not yet. Korea is just number 7 in global sales. That could change as well when the new gg from YG & Hybe are officially launch. While the boy groups are not doing that well in digitals in SK but they are doing better internationally both in physical sales, charting & merchs . If you want to have longevity , you need to establish strong fandom , & international charting/streams . So for now there is no leader in 4th gen overall. It’s up for grabs perhaps we’ll clearly now next year after comebacks. I would say in bg for now, ( in alphabetical order) top 3 is Enhypen, Straykids & Txt based on album sales, spotify streams, and charting internationally - US, Japan & Europe. For girl group, aespa is a clear winner for now.
Okay a few points
a) If you want to say BTS is the standard for being the leaders of kpop good luck with that. Most people exclude BTS because it is realistically not possible to accomplish what they have.
b) My point exactly, this is Aespa's first album so it's a bit too early to be calling them the leaders of 4th gen. We are still waiting for YG and Hybe to debut their girl groups. They just had a viral hit with NL so obviously their album sales and streams will be high. The question is whether they can capitalize on it and build a solid fanbase.
c) I have no idea about their international charting but I do know that itzy, stray kids, and txt have better spotify numbers. Even Enhypen who debuted at around the same time as aespa (i think), have better spotify numbers with fever.
To sum it up, no one is arguing about aespa's popularity in sk. They are definitely the number one 4th gen group there. International records are something they still haven't caught up with.

Agree on this- it’ a combination of their music, their visuals ( all are pretty goodlooking!) , their skills and likeable personality. I was never a fan of kpop until Enhypen. Then , I became casual fan of BTS , TxT and BP. But I only bought albums of Enhypen , even merchs and online concerts . Never have I ever imagined myself doing that until Enhypen. I was simply just looking for a new show to watch last July this year and stumbled watching i-land . I super like Heeseung that time & then like the rest of the members afterwards . They are so adorable . They have that aura that I cant describe attracting a lot of non kpop fan to stan them. I guess that’s what you call X-factor .
I know that for newer fans, their discography has really caught a lot of people’s attention. So the answer’s pretty simple really, music. They just have really good music, and they don’t have a single song I can think of that has a “controversial” sound, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it may be part of it.
They also have really appealing visuals, and their dancing is definitely far above average. And for people who know anything about the members, all of them are super likeable.

I am an Enhypen fan & Heeseung stan. I do think friendly competition is fine. Most of them are friends so no hate for anyone. This thread is really good . No comments that will upset anyone but a healthy discussion. IMO, I think Treasure has a stable fandom and can build their own name. The world stage is bigger and keep changing. There is enough room to market more groups with the right strategy, timing & bit of luck. My sister is a big fan of Treasure & she’ll be happy to see them have a cb. 😊

flopping? it depends on where u stand. I think they stand out in different ways. The fickle minded GPs in Korea prefer gg group since most of them are men but over-all ( internationally) it’s still the boy group’s world-physical sales, bb charting, european charting & japan charting.Obviously , with few exceptions- blackpink & twice. We are not even discussing merchs , online/offline concert sales and group marketability. Usually only hardcore fans will buy & support them . The world stage is bigger than Korea. The GG can continue to mesmerize the GP in Korea while the boygroup will continue to shine around the globe. The world is changing btw, physical sales are fast becoming more important & one of the measure of success. Instead of throwing “big words” like flopping, just celebrate your gg faves without dragging down any boy group. It’s a sign of insecurity and jealousy. If they are really that great , it wont be necessary to drag down anyone. Let them continue to chart in Korea and our boys will continue to sell millions & chart internationally!

it’s so satisfying.Like a food for the soul.

I agree. I will only speak for Engenes since I am one. They generally only care about Enhypen. I seldom see them start a fight nor care about others unless someone is shading Enhypen. All major fan groups in twitter are telling the fans not to engage in petty wars instead vote for them or support them. But you cant expect everyone to follow esp if provoked. The bigger the fandom, the harder it is to control . I think some people just need to hype their faves without dragging or shading anyone and everyone will be peaceful. Just because you cant understand why people like them or you think they are privileged do not give you the right to hit them below the belt. I still think that having an opinion doesnt mean harshly critisizing anyone. It doesnt help— it simply promotes hate and negativity. Why not just praise who you like and ignore those you dont. Why even waste time giving an opinion on some groups that you dont like. Just my two cents.
