Promotions, relations with PD's for shows, M/V sets etc. That all comes with money and influence.
Kpop is a business. You don’t got the money, chances of making it big are slim. But everyone knows who the top groups are. And they generate a ton of money so they can debut new groups and get more capital

Very rarely do once nugu groups hit it huge. They can eventually gain moderate success of course. Nugu groups are nugu for a reason. Whether it be peoples stubbornness to only check out popular groups or groups only from the Big4 (yes Big4 privilege exists). Or whether it be poor production/music/promotions, or even simply being from a lesser known company in comparison to a bigger company (whether it be Big4 or a well established company like Cube or Starship)
