I'll never understand why anyone would value or care about the constructive criticism or opinion of some random person on the internet. The real problem is that the ability to say what u think and feel in places like this forum or twitter, etc, allows people to be abnormally hateful because there are no repercussions.
90% of people would never say what they so freely say on the internet in person, that itself is cause not to take it seriously.

Op likes a song that didn't chart? or doesn't have a billion sales or streams? Perhaps I've wandered into a parallel universe akp.

Well I think that Taylor Swift at least acknowledges that BTS's sales tactics have worked & aims to at least keep up w/them by copying their strategies :)
Again, I disagree, simply because these tactics you're talking about weren't created by BTS or BH. You referenced the polaroids from Swift's 1989 album, that came out in 2014, you think she was copying BTS then? lol I actually read that the photocards were an invention by SM, instituted in TVXQ's 2007 Japanese album, and then introduced in SNDS's 2010 album Gee.
Again, the thread speaks specifically about western artists being intimidated by BTS, and I still think it's a no. If aything, I think western labels and artists see BTS as an opportunity.

Not true. Taylor Swift starting including Polaroids in her 1989 album, similar to KPOP photocards, and also added an opportunity to join a lottery to meet her in person with each album purchase. In general I noticed her packaging has changed to attract "stans" more than casual listeners (a.k.a. Lover's K-Poppish packaging.)
This thread is about western artists being intimidated by BTS' success. So while perhaps Swift has used practices employed by kpop companies (that's a big maybe by the way, Swift and her team have been gaming the charts and sales for a long time as evidenced by her bundles, cd giveaways, etc.) I still think that while BTS has become a player in the west, I don't think she is intimidated and neither are her peers.
-
I doubt I would classify it as insecurity. They're definitely a player now, and an act that has been noticed both by artists and the conglomerate sized labels that house them. Ultimately though, I don't think BTS success affects how western artists or labels will do things. Their success has only affected the western stans, like it affected the kpop ones.

This reminds me of when all the SM stans on this forum gathered on that thread to cirlcejerk about GRAMMYs for 25+ pages. Hoping for a group to not get a nomination just to see a "meltdown". I guess everyone knows how that turned out. All the kids went into hiding when real GRAMMY nominations came out.
Embarrassing af
Imagine living your life anticipating drama as your source of happiness. Watching the clowns on this forum bandwagon stan from one group to the other, yet maintaining the same childish, edgy, garbage behavior is just the epitome of pathetic.

We all have tastes obviously. But I feel you're gonna cause an uproar here with your choices lol

Both are great songs, but Let me know is my choice. The rawness and ache wrapped in melancholy speaks to me.

OP should go work for Dispatch.

I don't have much to contribute sadly because you have already mentioned the rappers who I feel are actual rappers in this thread. But I did want to point out that I like the spirit of your thread, as opposed to most threads that involve any type of skills on this forum (vocals, dancing, rapping, etc) which usually begin with "My faves are the best". I appreciate you trying to give everyone an opportunity to hype up their favorite groups. I for one appreciate the sentiment.

That's really cool. I've seen the Empire State Building lit up for things, I'm from NY by the way. But I didn't know they did this type of thing for musicians.

Neverending fiction.
