I think you're right. Currently she is probably 2nd for female soloist behind IU. Even though she still promote herself as SNSD's Taeyeon, she has already made her name for herself outside of SNSD. After SNSD (or not as SM does not officially disband their groups) disbands, she will probably still make chains of hits herself by her own brand and have huge longevity for her career. Even though many still considered her as idols and occasionally promotes like an idol, I think she has gone way past that. She's already a legend herself.

Musically, Sunmi during her solo debut making hits after hits but nowadays she kinda fell off the radar. Even she charted high but they free fall within short time. I'm not sure with hyuna but I think she also did well with her solo in her early days but nowadays her music charting was okay to mediocre but I think she is known for her brand herself more than her music. Chungha could have followed Sumni (early days) or taeyeon trajectory in terms of success but I think her company kinda screw up but I think she has the chance to bounce back for her upcoming comeback. Hwasa also have a good number of hits under her name and collabs (even though her latest cb kinda flopped) but who knows she could make hits again in the future.

In my opinion this sounds too cohesive for an aespa song. There must be a plot twist or some hyperpop elements in. Maybe SM would do that with their final product. But this also sounds like what american song would sound like, so yea as they are aiming for US market.

tomboy is already #2 on yearly on gaon 2022 chart. The gap is not that big with #1 and it’s still gaining 26m while the first place gain 13m. Unless a very big hit releases later, it will snatch #1 and will remain until end of the year. When was the last time a gg got #1 gaon yearly?
