I didn't say Iu needs to beat her own record to be a hit.

Like I said whether the song is a hit depends on how they chart normally.

IU can easily pull an 800k ULs on the first day and stable at around 500k - 600k( lilac and celebrity) after the first day easily.

If beating other artists and reaching a ULs that you normally can get is considered as a hit song then every IU song is going to be considered as a hit song because I mean who can beat IU in digital or ULs?? no one can easily pull an 800k ULs in the first day and being at the stable 500k - 600k ULs.

As I said, I expect better digital/ULs from IU to be considered a hit, but I don't expect a lot tho. I just expect the digital could stay between 700k - 800k

Next Level is definitely considered a hit song.

I think what a hit song is should also consider how popular the artist is and how they chart in general.

IU is an artist who can reach 800k ULs and get PAKs easily every comeback so do we just gonna say that all of her songs are a hit song and GP like the song in the future?

I think both Celebrity and LILAC song charting is not the best that IU can have.

The achievement of Celebrity and LILAC had is because it is IU so it will chart well.(that what I feel about it at least)

I think that IU definitely can do better than this come to mind.

On the other hand, Aespa is a new group that debuts less than 1 year and NL have that achievement is definitely a hit song no doubt about it.

I don't think you need to defend/protect IU like that.

We all know who IU is. She is a digital monster. When she released her previous album. She owns the top 8 spots of Melon.

However, this doesn't change the fact sometimes IU will release a song that is not liked by the GP and have not that great longevity especially when Celebrity and LILAC is not the type of "IU" song.

IU and BTS is the best digital charting in S.K so like we said, it depends on which GP liked the song and comparing international and Spotify is unnecessary since we know who will win.

I don't think Autumn Morning and DNA is a fair comparison anyway.

DNA is BTS's title track from their album and Autumn Morning is a cover song from IU's cover album so it will be weaker, but this is the only BTS vs IU. I guess this is the only time data we get but it just wasn't a fair comparison.

BTS's Dynamite peaked around 700k, Butter, not sure, but I think it goes over more than 500k.

Life Goes On didn't do that great on the chart compare to Dynamite and Butter. Its highest was around 450k(didn't get higher than 500k I think) after the first days and it goes down just like other songs

For IU, both celebrities and LILAC's ULs go down pretty fast as well. First Day is around 800k and after the second day is around 550k - 600k(I remember is release almost at the end of the week?? maybe I'm wrong, I don't know).

People really should stop thinking IU is like the god or something and no one can beat her.

I think BTS really close to IU and have pretty high chance to beat IU.

IU will definitely beat BTS in term of ULs, but who will chart better will depend on which song that GP prefers.

IU celebrity and Lilac ULs dropped quite fast after the first day. From 830k to around 600k on the second day so BTS still have a chance to beat IU, but it depends on the song. I think IU will still beat BTS in real-time chart, but bts will take over after midnight.
