Okay so I tried doing it for Boy Groups who have sold 3M in total and above.

I did Korean Sales and Korean + JPN Sales lists and the Oricon lists of the same groups.

Data from: KOREAN SALES @koreansales_twt - Google Sheets

For the Korean Sales: The number of "releases" is equal to how they are counted by Gaon and their certification system.

    12. Shinhwa - 17,422 (2 releases)

    13. Sechskies - 3,350 (1 release)

    Observations:

    1. Its easier to have a higher average with less releases for both the Korean sales list, the korean + JPN sales list and the JPN sales list.

    - Having more releases resulted in a lower average most of the time

    - Having less releases resulted in a higher average most of the time.

    2. On the Korea + JPN List, it benefited having LITTLE to NO JPN releases for many acts.

    3. 1st Gen sales were extremely high overall.

Most Important Takeaway for me looking at these numbers:

    - You MUST Look at the Context of the numbers.

    - Having more releases --> Decreases the artists averages.

    - Does not give an accurate measurement of popularity if you don't look at the context of them.

Could maybe end up top 5. But Top 10 seems certain.

Their last album charted at #25. This will be their 4th album charting on the bb200 after

The Dream Chapter: Star (debut album)

minisode1: Blue hour - #25 peak and spent 2 weeks on the chart

Still Dreaming - JAPANESE ALBUM (only other act to chart a jpn album after bts)

and now The Chaos Chapter: Freeze will likely give them a new peak within the Top 10!!!!!!!

Gosh these boys are just growing....its insane to watch

The TXT updates are being quite but I found this on Twitter. Lmao This is so satisfying.

I'm clueless about US billboard chart. Promo aside, is there any benefit by playing TXT songs on US radio? Will it affecting BB charts?

It counts towards the songs (hot 100) chart.
here is a prediction sheet for the hot 100 right
    Image

at the top you can see the orange, green and blue columns have the different aspects that count towards the hot 100 chart

    Streams (Spotify, YT, AM etc)

Sales for the song itself (iTunes etc)

Airplay <---- THIS IS RADIO and this is where US radio airplay is helped

One other thing i find insane is especially in the past year (since dynamite basically) is the ability for their songs to do well in Korea with little to no korean promo.

i mean dynamite's first performance in korea was literally after it had won its first soty :pepe-joy:

SLR is another example of this. (like we got 1 tiktok and 1 tweet of this song and its still chilling in the top 30 of melon).

Melon 24Hits especially has become quite dependent and charting stats there is helped tremendously by korean promo on variety shows and even music shows.

BTS have managed to chart their songs extremely well without this promo which just shows that people are there and ready to check out their music as its released.
