HOT TAKE: There is no top girl group in kpop

    Whatever I don’t care if I get attacked, how can you be the top girl group but now have a comeback in almost 2 years?


    I know blinks ar e gonna come and brag about their relevance and what ever but at this point BLACKPINK as a girl group is not that relevant


    T outside of them though no other gg can dominate, twice does bets interNationally but no hit in korea for 3 years


    Aespa good in korea but fall behind other 4th gens internationally


    I’ve is th e most balanced but overall their popularity as a group doesn’t compare


    So imo there is no top gg, and hasn’t been for a long time

    BP was literally the most streamed GG last year, the gg toppping Gaon, The only gg to reach 1b points in Gaon without a comeback plus 300k sales with only catalogue sales which no other gg could pull. They are very relevant til this day, you have to be delusional if you think they are not

    If you haven’t had a comeback in 2 years and continue to top charts (whether it’s most streamed or talked about on Twitter), that definitely makes you the top gg. You don’t even have to do anything and you’re still the main character.

    Your point about Blackpink makes literally no sense. There is no official guideline that says how long a top group is allowed to take a hiatus. What defines a top group isn't the time they spent away, but their level of success. Rihanna fans would string you up by your ankles if they ever heard you say that.

    Let's just say that the top spot is on the verge of being contended, and nobody should be surprised about that.

    how? no gg has charted inside the top50 of the hot 100, no gg has charted for more than 2 months in the us, no gg has peaked at top5 in the billboard global 200 and no gg has charted inside the top 50 of spotify, no gg with more than 500m streams in 1 album, no gg with 1b views, no gg with 50m followers, no other gg crossing the 1m. All those records are still very much unbreakable by other ggs, so how is BP in the verge of being contended?

    You don't even need to be a blink to acknowledge that BP is the top GG and there is no contest. It's just common sense really.

    "They haven't had a comeback in 2 years" even more lies lol, LSG was in october, its just May and they are having a comeback in June/July, plus in 2021 they had The Show, The Album JP, the ONU documentary, The Movie. BP has been a group since LSG, you just don't want to admit that you are wrong. And fyi SNSD did the same thing in 2011, they "dipped" for a whole year and then comeback in 2013, and in the meantime had a unit debut and japaneses releases, similaly to Chaelisa solos last year and jp cmb, so now you don't have any excuses OP

    The delusion, Blinks were literally in a fanwar with sm stans in the main and have been fights on with armys and yg stans. We aren't being totally active now, but with the comeback season coming, expect many threads of us proving why BP still number 1
