DYK Highway to Heaven was filmed in the Mojave Desert in California over 2 days? The song's lyrics reference taking the 101 highway, which runs up California's coast - it's a 4 hour drive just to get to the 101 from the Mojave Desert. Other parts of the iconic highway include the El Camino Real, the Hollywood Freeway and the Redwood Highway which begins at the famous Golden Gate Bridge and goes through beautiful redwood forests. Not all of the freeway is beautiful but it does have gorgeous portions!
