SM’s Executive Vice President meme

    Approved the thread.
  • Turns out there is a good reason why groups follow those steps...

  • i just saw this in twitter ... do the brainless idiots running sm actually think a 20min performance at Coachella is a step above a world tour??? Even a solo concert is leagues above a 20min Coachella performance (attendees at a solo concert would've actually paid money to see aespa and not billie eilish!). at this point, i'm starting to think sm is intentionally making fools of themselves (and unfortunately aespa in the process) to create publicity

Maybe because only 2 gps have been to coachella while there are more groups having concerts and world tour.

  • i don't get it can somebody explain?

basically what he's saying he's that usually it's more normal for groups to do a first concert or do a world tour before having a chance to perform on such a big stage like coachella

but Aespa is having a different path and they completely skip this steps to directly perform at coachella

You need to wake up '-'

anybody can hold a solo concert now

Ateez, Apink etc... are all able to do a solo concert

and world tour doesn't have the same meaning than it was before, now anybody can have a world tour too considering how much kpop grew

i mean Everglow was going to have a world tour before the pandemic when they were not even that big

Eric nam have a world tour in 2022, MusTB, DKB, DPR,

World tour became accessible to anybody even nugu group now

but it's much harder to get booked in a big foreigner event like Coachella

that's why even with all the groups promoting in the US and doing promo here

only 2 gg were invited to perform at coachella

  • Maybe because only 2 gps have been to coachella while there are more groups having concerts and world tour.

The number of acts who have done something is more of a determinant of how significant an achievement is than the worth of the achievement itself? so if someone created a new festival and invited one kpop group, this would automatically be a greater achievement than performing in multiple continents in front of fans who purchased tickets solely to see them? i'm not downplaying aespa - i think they're talented and successful (and had a pretty good performance at coachella), but what is sm thinking ...

  • can anybody chill? It's just an inside fandom among mys as continuation of Next Level going straight to daesang with 0 music show wins. I promise not everything is as serious as you guys non mys make it out to be.

  • he is setting them up SM is so desperate for western validation

That's stupid considering the guy who did it is an American man :pepestare: op get your facts right lol

  • I think everyone knows who this user is LOL

Aespa were invited by 88rising not Coachella, making them actually the 5th Korean act to be invited to perform at this festival. CL got the same exact deal as them and you think SHE is making waves in the US? Let me laugh

Coachella is not the be all end all Sm stans and execs think is it, BTS never stepped one foot there and it's clearly worked out well for them

  • Easy for him to joke about it because Aespa is getting the brunt of the backlash over and over.

  • stop embarrassing yourself smh. you're saying a 20min performance as part of a stage that 88rising was invited to coachella for is a greater achievement than having tours that you can call your own? sure, "nugu" groups can hold small-scale world tours (and good for them - it's an achievement to be celebrated that they have fans who want to see them even if the numbers are small), but when aespa has its own large-scale tours, that will be a far greater achievement for them than a 20min stage at a festival they weren't headliners/subheadliners/announced in the line-up for

  • it's not that deep? Chill we can't even joke about shit anymore kpop fans fucking annoying af

  • Holy f*ck! Antis and haters are REALLY looking for ANY excuse to bash Aespa or SM, aren't they?

Drop the pretense. It's not as if the same antis here that are suddenly 'fake indignation' acting about some tweet weren't happily bashing Aespa/SM long before on a frequent basis.

it's not that deep? Chill we can't even joke about shit anymore kpop fans fucking annoying af

Haters will hate, and use any excuse to justify their toxicity.

  • If you're getting your panties in a twist because the EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SM posts a meme, you need to go outside and touch some grass. How sensitive are some of you. So so so childish.
