Precious (2009) - Good movie. Hard to watch. Gabourney Sidibe's did very well considering she has no acting experience prior to this movie.
Grave of the Fireflies (1988) - One of the best anti-war movies of all time. War movies are often from the side of the victors and almost always never seen from a civilian point of view much less from the Japanese side.
Wolf Children (2012) - Very earnest and heartfelt. Fantasy element aside, it's a great movie about the struggles of motherhood.
The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things (2004) - While it's not without its flaws and controversy aside, it's a bleak film. There's no happy ending nor hope in the end. It's just unpleasant film through and through.
Marley & Me (2008) - It seems silly to not spoil a 13-year-old movie but just the same it wasn't what I thought the movie would be.
