YG wanted to make a YG's snsd version with blackpink he has talked about it for years on the media it's obvious the influence was there.

It's what YG wanted, he talked about wanting his own SNSD again and again, a group like SNSD but then with YG's hiphop flavor of music and style.

Just like how he said that with Treasure he wanted a more traditional boy group, instead of a Big Bang successor.
