Figures. Just a month ago IU canceled her reservation for jamsil stadium beacuse of the rise in corona and the restrictions. She would have been the first korean female artist ever to hold a concert there. Doesnt look like that will happen anytime soon now with the place being closed down for renovations that will be ongoing for years.

But probably for the best considering her recent hearing problems anyway.

Weird fortune that, her own hearing becomes an impediment to her singing.

If there were a way for her not to hear her own singing, would she or any artist sing without that real time feedback?, even if fans are willing to hear.

Like painting blindfolded, only using imagination and muscle memory?

Well, Ayumi Hamasaki comes to mind, whos gradually been going deaf over the years, altough i dont know her current status or if shes even active anymore.

Im no expert in singing but id imagine its pretty difficult to sing live well without being able hear anything all even if one has performed a song hundreds of times before. As for singing something new i think it would be impossible.

But in IUs case the bigger problem right now is that she hears herself singing and it actually resulting in physical pain.

Is this gonna be for music shows also? I missed music show performances with the live audience

Yes, if hearing both internally and externally would be painful; but to sing without hearing entirely, that would be daunting..
