Shanghai Covid lockdown

Its a 25 million population metropolitan, Chinese government decided to lock it down the way they do now.

Perhaps you have seen some news.

Do you think its right or wrong?

What did / can you learn from the operation?

practically its better than what we had which was half assed lockdowns for 1 years

and also I've read that the Chinese vaccines aren't as effective in combating various strains of covid...

and as a government whether democracy or authoritarian or communist or dictatorship...one thing you gotta maintain is a sense of control especially when pandemics start happening

I get the intention to control spread out and damage is positive played out by governments of different types of regimes to their optimal, consequences varied on top of the nature of regime and people.

Personally I think overall anti Covid spike measures in China and Shanghai lockdown recently have turned highly political under Covid zero call from Beijing. Covid zero is tough option but not a sin. Government officials responsible for damage control fell into do whatever it takes contest in setting strict counter Covid measures that are quite improvement pending to either earn performances or save their jobs, a hard work based off politics and fear other than virus without proper accordance between the higher up law enforcers

I hope status gets better after adjustments soon. Chinese populace can act on anti virus protocols better than most western countries in my opinion for their nature, reasonable and intelligent protocols that include humanity that works around Covid zero, if this is the path chosen. Inexperience in anti Covid from top management does not seem a good way to put it for now.

Different Covid battle political issues in China than the US where people are more on their own have to live with the aftermath. I get China could have done better seeing what has happened in the west when omicron tide came their way.
