Is rv snatching their top 3 gg title back?

  • Everyone tend to have their up and then they fall down. rv seems to be very consistent, never be on top 1 but never fall below their standard either. RV has the best longevity, this is their what? 8th years???? in the game and they're still killing it digital and physical sale wise.

  • If they manage to hit big on the digital charts, then I would definitely guess so. Talk about a major upset though haha. People definitely counted them out, myself included. The top girl group ranking is receiving an unexpected shake-up. Now it seems almost funny how people not too long ago were talking about whether Aespa was ahead of blackpink, but now it's like they aren't even ahead of Red Velvet.

  • they were never part of the trop 3 though. even omg is bigger than them

  • I said this for a long time, and i did mentioned it here once, RV is a group that we can’t predict. Sometimes they miss and sometime they hit but one thing about them that make them special is their longetivity career as a group are insanely strong.

I think people were too hasty. RV has been around for a long time, and so has Twice/BP. Aespa have just started, and they're growing exponentially every comeback, but they don't have the foundation RV has.

  • Let's first see how the comeback goes, let's not be too hasty to draw conclusions.

Red Velvet have always been doing well, but it's no secret that the 4th gen have been doing better and better, and even OMG are doing well digitally.

I'd say that of the remaining 3rd gen groups, RV are still in the Top 3 of 3rd gen groups.

Let's not diss and shade Aespa. Aespa have been surpassing all other girl groups except for BP, and on Korean charts Aespa's songs have been doing as well as BP's last songs in peak and longevity.

That's an achievement regardless how RV will end up doing.

they were never part of the trop 3 though. even omg is bigger than them

Red Velvet have been a Top 3 group for many years, in popularity, digitals and physicals combined.

    OMG isn't bigger than RV.

OMG only did somewhat better than RV in digitals on the Korean charts and if that's what this is about, then OMG is also bigger than TWICE.

If it's about how girl groups did on the Korean charts the past 2 years, then this is the ranking:

    1. BP

    2. Aespa

    3. OMG

4-5. Brave Girls / Red Velvet

    6. STAYC

    7. IDLE

    8. TWICE

    9. ITZY

And that was before the RV comeback of this week.

We'll see how things change based on that in the upcoming weeks.

  • What am I shading? People were definitely talking about if Aespa was going to surpass blackpink. That's a fact. Don't be mad at me because that's what people were discussing.

As for Red Velvet, you are welcome to believe whatever you want about them in your own personal ranking but I said what I said. Red velvet had had more #1s than Aespa and are now showing their physical capabilities. For me, if they manage to get another hit on the chart they will definitely climb above Aespa.

I know y'all take offense to anything that doesn't praise y'all faves but that does not mean that everything is said to target your faves. These are my genuine opinions and there is nothing more or less to them.

You have to be delusional to think Red Velvet are topping aespa, let's put things in perspective 1 group at 8 years just finally sold over 500k copies one group their rookie year with debut mini sold 600k copies . In what world or universe is red velvet surpassing aespa? You know as much as me that aespa are selling 700k easy next cb and getting number 1 stop being delusional.

Not reveluvs getting brave, aespa sold 600K with their FIRST album, RV needed 8 years for that, so let's not. You know well 4th gen groups will end up selling better than 3rd groups not matter what.

RV competition is 3rd gen groups and twice is selling 800K probably 1M with next comeback and bp will sell between 2M-3M , let's talk about that instead of comparing rv to rookies lmao

  • Queendom took 7 months to hit 100m views.

Their Spotify and Apple music global charting was non existent.

    They tour bingo halls.

    Rectify those and maybe talk.

  • Not at trolls and other people using RV's comeback to start fake RV-Aespa fanwars :facepalm:X/

Of course people were discussing the possibility of Aespa surpassing Blackpink: Blackpink haven't had a comeback for 1.5 year now and no comeback news in sight, while of all the active girl groups Aespa have been doing best.

As for Red Velvet, 3rd gen groups debuted in a completely different time from 4th gen groups, sales and achievements were different and have changed across those 5-6 years.

Let's not fight about trivials like that, I'm a fan of both Aespa and Red Velvet. If RV will be doing phenomenal and have a massive megahit with their current comeback, great for them. If not, seems like they'll still have a successful comeback if the 500k preorders are any indication.

Regardless, both groups Aespa and RV have been doing well each in their own rights, and those people that claimed RV wouldn't extend their contract or would decline couldn't have been more wrong.

  • They had a minor wobble with Queendom which was a lazy and dull release for them, but their new album is perfect for spring.

  • I guess its time to revision this list, based on the past couple of weeks and the latest comebacks added

    1. Blackpink

    2. Aespa

    3. Oh My Girl

    4. Red Velvet

    5. GIdle

    6. STAYC

    7. Brave Girls

    8. TWICE

    9. ITZY
