Why is BTS the only korean act invited to perform on American award shows?

That by itself show how relevant BTS was in 2017 compared to other kpop acts in the west.

Kpop is a niche that BTS outgrew in the US. If another kpop act shows that they're mega profitable when they're not promoting actively in the US, then maybe award shows will invite them.
