i got into kpop bc of treasure. i discovered right when their survival show was coming out, i think i searched up bruno mars treasure and ended up with the show and i was so bored i watched and i kinda got addicted.
while they went on haitus, i discovered a few things. i rlly didn't like any other groups. and i found kpop really toxic. like the way some fans are. i thought it was super lame how some ppl expect u to stay up till like 4 am to watch comebacks, u have to stream 24/7, u need to know all the stuff ur idols are doing, etc etc. this was also during the time all the bullying scandals, chen's scandal, and i was learning more and more about the actual kpop industry and everything just seemed so fake and manufactured and the fans just seemed like mindless followers.
i pretty much left kpop until i heard of treasure's debut. i rmbr being so excited for them just to have it ruined by kpop fans. idk, so many ppl were bashing on them, their comment sections were filled with fandom wars, people were calling the members ugly, theur music lame and it was all so toxic. like its just music, why was everything so toxic?
obv im still a treasure fan but i have probably the most detached way of stanning them. i dont follow any of their social medias and the only interaction i have with them is youtube. i love treasure map and occassionaly watch treasure box again but i disabled the comments bc i rlly dont care what other ppl think lol. i listen to them on spotify (dont stream unless i want to) and occasionally, when i want to know how the boys are doing, ill search them on the kpop threads section. its super non-toxic and i get to see all the cool things the boys are up to and find out like 60 days later that they're doing amazing things. im sure i miss out on a lot of the things the boys do because of how detached i am from them. but honestly i like this way more. i get to enjoy their music and content without all the toxicity. i dont even know if i qualify as a kpop fan bc i literally dont know any another group (i cant even name all the bts members, i can name blackpink but i only know the songs treasure has danced too lol, and every other group, i dont even know their names to mention what i know or dont know abt them) maybe im just a tueme.
anyways this tueme just wanted to post this because i frkn love the treasure artist threads here and i just wanted to appreciate them for a second.
