Will Blackpink ever win a daesang?

  • Yes they can win soty if their song does well.

  • Nct have won 4 daesangs so far and as an nctzen i can tell you they carry no huge meaning like some of you are making it out to be. Apart from giving you a little cheer on how well your year went, they are useless...

  • You care, and so do all these kpop fans. "Millions of non kpop fans who contribute to their streams" lmfao. Those streams are mostly SEA/kpop fans who have no lives and stream like they're own lives depend on it. I know you and others like you need them to be special to make your existence make sense, but they're not, and will never be.

BP gets more streams than all other girl groups in every country except japan and the UK. I thought we moved past the "mostly only popular in SEA" theory like 3 years ago years ago.

They didn't got any major one (mama mma) maybe that's why u feel like that. Otherwise daedangs do matter a lot.

  • what's the point anyways? Blackpink won't even be there to take the award.

  • maybe not but it's not the big deal that kpop fans think it is. daesangs don't really matter as much as y'all want them to. sure blinks will hype bp if they win one - as every fandom does, but in reality, it doesn't make much of a difference. a piece of metal isn't and shouldn't be career-defining. many household names in music like katy perry, nicki minaj, tupac and even queen have never won a grammy but they're still incredibly successful and respected.

and before y'all jump at me, yes grammy and a daesang are different but it still shows not having a major award in your collection doesn't mean you're a flop.

plus the majority of western and korean awards are fanvoted, or at least votes from fans make up a big % of the calculations. it's really not about "who has the better music" but rather "whose fandom is bigger and more dedicated".
