What do you think is the REAL reason BP release fewer songs than the average group and takes longer hiatuses?

    is it because they are always relying on Teddy alone? is just how YG does things? is it some sort of strategy by starvation of the fanbase? what you think is the real reason?

    yg/teddy literally said that they have a formula for their bp releases?

    they only want to release songs they are sure going to be hits, they only make music for the charts/sales/achievements (teddy, not the girls). that probably explains why they are so picky with chosing songs.


    i don't know why some blinks deny the starvation tactic either? it doesn't have to invalidate the members.

    yes, yg applies this tactic, but it wouldn't work with just any group.

    last but not least, i really think the members aren't too upset with this method. they have a lot of free time to travel, attend fashion show, meet friends, work on their passions,..

    Exclusivity is their main selling point. Fans don't get a chance to say "next comeback" if they don't like something so fans will support the song to the fullest. With every comeback doing numbers YG takes that as a signal to say "yeah fans are still here" and it reassure them that they can wait as long as they want and it will not be to the detriment of the group.

    They would be better off without the starvation tactic anyways, so many blinks leave every year because of the lack of content. Tbh half the reason bp never seem to lose fans is because Kpop has been ever growing since they debut, one it slows down it will be a big problem for them

    I think they are on a long hiatus because Jennie's injury was more severe than diagnosed or she re-injured herself. She seems to be doing better now.

    They're Instagram models who occasionally do music

    they don't need to be an active group. they're so popular and globalized that they could realize an album full of fart noises and make millions & blinks would hype it up, so they don't need to put out a lot of anything. i do think blackpink are overall a great group, i just get frustrated that a group SO popular can't be a LITTLE more active. like...groups like loona, etc etc who try so HARD and (metaphorically) feed their fans and have music that's (objectively) much better have so much less success.

    Just an observation, I've noticed many people have started calling blackpink influencers and models again. This time it's not even in an insulting way. On all platforms it's the same. I watched that dkdktv episode where knets were calling them that and so were David and Danny. Lifestyle influencers

    YG maximizes their profits by spending the least amount of money to make the most amount of money.


    YG simply doesn’t have the company infrastructure or funds to give BP as many comebacks as groups from other companies. They’d rather lowball it by putting out a song or two and then touring those same songs endlessly.


    It works because blinks will hype up their group no matter what, even if they’re getting the bare minimum.

    yg thinks their success is because of teddy so they have to wait for him to create songs they consider good. But BP would do good with any decent producer imo

    i have never really understood this

    had jennie always this injury? why could she perform her solo so well each time, but not the group songs of that year? if they took a longer hiatus for healing, wouldn't it rather be for mentally healing.

    jennie seemed to be really struggling these last few years with being in the spotlights & being criticised so often

    Either yg is extremely perfectionist about bp and will only release something when everything is perfect, or its all about misogyny.

    Maybe a bit of both

    It's the starvation tactic that YG uses on all their artists, that is why they are so popular.

    If they release frequent music they would be badly exposed and hardly sell any records and not get high youtube views.

    People will get sick and tired of BP really quickly

    Do you mean their followers are armys or was it just a figure of speech? As far as I know armys also consider them bts antis and unfollowed them when they brought a well known bts anti on the show and said bts need to leave so other groups can get a chance.
