Kpop is so obsessed with performance and dance and sales..

We’re still surprised by this in 2022? No matter how much (western) Kpop stans try to force it, the genre is more then just about “music”, which is pretty just vocal skills

I am in it for the music, I don't really care about performance and sales.

Well, all the K-pop companies are called 'bla bla entertainment', so that's what it is about, k-pop entertainment.

And that's more than just music, just like how an idol is more than just an artist.

Dancing, performing, those are all things that are definitely a part of that, as much as the music. I'd even say that idol-fan interaction and content are an essential part of the whole K-pop entertainment package.

Sales, that's for the company and for (hardcore) fans.

It's nice for the group if they have great sales, because it means they can keep doing it and keep entertaining their fans.

But it shouldn't be the most important things to focus on with a group.
